Pass by this shop and saw this round big pineapple tarts displaying on their counter and decided to buy one to try. For the price of $1.50 each it was quite expensive. But the crunchy buttery pastry biscuit is very fresh and fragrant. The juicy pineapple paste was not too sweet and with abit of sourness in it as well. Great to have it with a cup of tea. The stall staff is friendly and shop is clean as well.

What I like about Glory Local Delights at East Coast Road is the Nyonya Popiah using egg skin made from batter similar to crepes. Turnips is the main ingredient to the whole combination. A small designed food drainer is used to extract the additional juices from the turnips before adding the portion to each popiah.

Though there is a generous amount of ingredients added to the soft and smooth egg popiah skin, the skin does not tear easily.

The super hot chilli and a spread of sweet black sauce over a piece of fresh “pang chye” spikes the whole combination and add punch to this eating experience.

I don't mind paying a few cents extra for a slightly fatter than the normal popiah at S$2.30 especially when skin is made from egg batter.

We ordered the Popiah , Tapioca Kueh , Glutinous Rice w/ Chicken for take-away. The staff serving outside and the staff inside had miscommunications resulting inconsistent price tags on my order. The Tapioca Kueh's shreds was not fine enough so it wasn't pleasant to eat. Glutinous Rice w/chicken was nice but cold as it was left there. best recommended to bring home and heat up. Popiah was the moist sort, which isn't my preference but it was still well packed with goodie ingredients.

I happened to pass by this stall at Katong and needless to say, when you are there, its Laksa time. Katong has a number of Laksa stalls but I happened to pass by Glory Catering after alighting from the bus and was attracted by the many Nonya Kueh that they sell. I was also drawn by the fragrant of the food from this stall. They have a number of Peranakan dishes which I would love to try. I love Nyoya dishes cause of its variety. Decided to order the Laksa since I’m in Katong and glad that I ordered it. Well, it came with generous amount of Prawns and lemon grass sprinkled at the top. The Laksa soup was really flavourful as well. Rich in flavour with the Nyoya taste. I finished every bit of it. Until now I’m still missing it.

The FoodMy friends recommend me this stall and most of the kuehs here are very good with the right amount of sweetness, texture and flavour. The Red Bean has creamy texture almost like a ice cream minus the melting sensation of the ice. Kueh Talam and Talam Hijau has this nice eggy texture taste on top, plus pandan flavour bottom just wanting to eat. I also ordered Onde Onde and was in a pack of 5 small pieces with shredded coconut topped with some bean maybe to absorb moisture. A single bite th

I also ordered Onde Onde and was in a pack of 5 small pieces with shredded coconut topped with some bean maybe to absorb moisture. A single bite thick gula melaka just flows freely with a small solid piece still in it. It was soft and nice but could have been softer if maybe if it was warm.

The Price
Reasonably priced at less than $1 per piece

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

During Chinese new year, we bought kueh lapis from this establishment. The kueh lapis was lighter than most, but the flavour was still as intense and delicious. This meant that the cake was not too cloying or overpowering on the palate. There is a slight eggy flavour with the scent of vanilla. The layers can also be peeled off and eaten individually! Definitely a fun snack to eat

The best snack is Popiah, They serve all nonya dishes here. They have assam fish, rendang, chicken curry. I just order rice then put a few dishes, like tahu tempeh, fried fish and chicken gravy with alot of sambal and anchovies. So Delicious and yummy. For desserts, i ordered ondeh-ondeh and some pineapple tarts. Excellent place to have a quick lunch and take-away.

The setting is your typical coffeeshop, economic rice set up, but the prices are out of the stratosphere. The dishes all look yummy, rich and full flavoured, but be prepared for a shock when you pay the bill. I had rice with lady's fingers, tempeh and chicken and was charged $8.70 for it. One word - DISAPPOINTING. The skin was thick and there was almost no gula melaka inside! You are practically eating a dough ball. This definitely ranks as one of the lousiest ondeh ondeh I've eaten. I cannot recommend this place as there is nothing special that warrants the high price and the ondeh ondeh was a terrible disappointment.

Nice nasi padang. Costs $3 a plate. They don't tell you the price till you finish eating. And then there's GST which they also do not tell you till the end. And the calculation of GST is random. It's not even 7%! Due to the shady pricing, I would not come here again. The food is alright. A little bit oily. And not hot. Quite tasty. The poh piah is $2.50 a piece, which is double the price of other places and not really anything fantastic. The place isn't very clean either. There are lots of cooki

Overall most of the food items here are tasty but prices are on the high end as you paid for the air-con comfort in this shop.
