I like the name of this place which has western overtones but really serving Japanese food. I ordered the shrimp curry with rice and I did not like it that much. I think I still prefer Indian curries to Japanese curries. Japanese curries are sweeter in taste rather than spicy, and there are little herbs inside which provides the strong aroma. The shrimp was fried and pretty OK. The curry itself was acceptable if you like Japanese curry.

What's the deal about a cheer on for gorillas and curry? I stood around watching their promotional video (entirely in Japanese) and I will not pretend to have understood more than "Oiishi!" I did however, recognize Hideki Matsui who plays for the New York Yankees and his jersey number, 55 which was the reason for Go! Go! (the number 5 in Japanese) clearing my entirely reasonable idea of it being a cheer for the curry. And well, his Godzilla nickname influenced their eventual choice of a gorilla

But just like an entirely serendipitious sort of phenomenon, that's probably brilliant though. The idea of a Go! Go! in your restaurant's name psychologically propels your body to respond to your subconscious mind. Go! Go! to the Curry! now! That was me anyway.

So next time you walk past, tell me if you feel a sudden compulsion to act on it!

Why go for less, when you can challenge the Grand Slam!
Actually, I just couldn't decide what I wanted with my curry.

This wasn't what I expected from a Japanese curry. It was a distinctive dark brown colour and a more pronounced peppery taste. Think: A thicker version of beef stew. I liked it! Whether curry or called by any other name because this was comfort-type soul food on a rainy day. They weren't generous enough with the curry sauce though, unlike cocoichi and no, I did not know that I could add on extra portions of curry until I read one of the reviews that suggested extra curry and extra cheese! Mmm.

So if you were going at it alone, remember that these curry rice sets have a larger than normal portion of rice even on the healthy version. Diners pick from a choice of Shrimp, Sausage, Pork or Chicken cutlet, accompanied by shredded cabbage. And unless you're with someone else, I don't know how one person's stomach can manage 650g of rice with curry and 4 sides.

The big gorilla poster always caught my attention whenever I walked passed the stall. The stall offers 5 different type of curry rice set and it came in Healthy, Economy, Business and First Class portions (size) depending on your appetite. The stall offers limited choices of drinks and they do not serve ice water.I ordered the chicken katsu curry. The chicken katsu is tender and juicy. The curry was mildly spicy which went very well with the Japanese sticky rice.

Walked past this curry stall and their food looked yummy and appetising so I decided to give it a try! I ordered chicken cutlet rice with curry and cheese! It was served in a large plate with a lot of curry sauce. You could choose from five curry spicy levels, I had level three, which was not too spicy at all, just right for me to enjoy my meal. The cheese did not really make a difference to the meal because I couldn't really taste it at all. The chicken cutlet was crispy. There were pieces of m

This is the best japanese curry i have ever eaten! The curry itself is unique in its own way, something different from what i tasted before. The curry compliments the rice very well and it's thick on its own. The chicken and pork pieces were very crispy and went well with the curry too. There are also egg and ebi on the side and they tasted good too! The service is good and the environment is suitable for chilling.

Was attracted to Go Go Curry as it reminded me of Daikokuya(大黒屋)@Asakusa deep fried tempura with dark sauce. According to the brochure, it is one of the best katsu curry in Japan, they even have photos showing the long queue in Shinjuku. We ordered the Grand Slam (S$18.50) so that we can try everything - chicken katsu, port katsu, prawns and sausage. However, we were quite disappointed, maybe because of the high expectations. The curry sauce is a bit salty, pork katsu is quite dry.

SO HOW'S THE TASTE?

Firstly, when the dish was served to our table, I was already greatly impressed of the way they displayed. The ' Economy Class' Chicken Curry dish was served with a tray and cutlery, tissue was place on the tray too. To zoom in on the taste of their food, I feel that it was nice. This plate consists of sticky rice, thick curry and crispy chicken culet on top of the curry rice. Other than that, shreds of lettuce was garnished at the side of the plate making it looks more appealing as well (:

YUMMY! Do come and try it !

my girlfriend and i were walking around ion still thinking what to eat. we passed by go go curry at the basement and decided to give it a try. i think due to the size of the restaurant, there were not many seats. luckily for us, we managed to grab one quite quickly. apparently their food have different classes, from economy to first class. like taking airplane. when our food arrived, the pile of curry scaring back at us look horrifying, but one mouth and it was not too spicy. as a matter of fact

It is located among the many stalls in Ion’s basement and not more than 20 seats for diners. The food selection is rather limited but there is still some selection available. There are different types of portions available for the set meals and known as healthy, economy, first and business classes. As the ‘class’ spells, size of food and price also increase as the class ‘gets better’.We ordered a pork katsu curry set and chicken katsu curry set. We ordered a pork katsu curry set and chicken katsu curry set. Hmm, basically pork is slightly chewier and chicken is on tender side. Nothing impressive but slightly better than average dining places serving katsu curry.

Once and this is it.

The food was served quite fast! So it's a good pit stop for super hungry people. Anyways, the chicken katsu cutlet was quite huge in size and the they really give a lot of sauce. A splendid view indeed!

Taste of curry was really good, exactly what it tastes like back in Japan although slight difference in the spice taste (different region, different sauce). And the portion is just nice, quite full with patting my tummy all over.

If the gorilla in 313 startles you, then you must stop and eat in their other stall there.
A must try for it! The chicken was crispy too. Goodness!

Cookeeatmonster, hunting for the worthy places of bringing your monstrous appetite.
