I passed by this traditional desserts place somewhere along Chinatown, and decided to try their desserts after dinner. They have a variety of desserts like steamed egg, mango pomelo, almond paste, sesame paste, walnut paste, etc. Their pastes are made from scratch so it's supposedly more authentic then those available elsewhere. I had the mango pomelo sago, which was pretty average; quite watery, and also a little too sweet.

It was an early morning and right after breakfast, we decided to go for some healthy food. Drove pass this shop with a huge golden pot near the entrance and absolutely no one in there (we were probably too early), and decided to walk in.We ordered the normal gui ling gao. The menu had many different flavors but nothing beats the original taste. Service was pretty fast. Consuming gui ling gao is suppose to be good for the skin and detox (that's what I heard) so it's not surprising that people

We ordered the normal gui ling gao. The menu had many different flavors but nothing beats the original taste. Service was pretty fast. Consuming gui ling gao is suppose to be good for the skin and detox (that's what I heard) so it's not surprising that people are able to swallow such a bitter jelly. Aside from the nutritional values, gui lin gao taste good with honey. I like it fresh from the fridge.

It was a hot day and what better way to quench our thirst and bring down the heat by having desserts? We ordered a takeaway for the popular dessert - the mango pomelo sago. The mangoes given are quite reasonable for the price paid - you can see the mangos hidding within the sweet soup. Taste wise, the mangoes are sweet and the dessert is cold enough and sweetened just right. Would probably be back to try other desserts, especially its herbal jelly!
