I went there during CNY eve with my family,my sister bought the middle size to try,we ordered the sweet one,the popcorn was quite crunchy,not very sweet ,with strong caramel butter aroma,however after few bites we got a bit sick of it,we should mixed with salty one ,service was ok,the staff do greet us ,smile,waiting time was around 10-15mins as it was cny eve,overall i rate 6/10

A great and convenient snack at the movies, it keeps the mouth occupied while the mind is occupied with the show. Yes, popcorn!We bought the sweet flavour popcorn as I have always been a fan of sweet stuff. Blame it on my sweet tooth. The popcorn is light and sweet, enhancing the flavour on the taste buds. It doesn’t leave the fingers sticky after the snack. The popcorn is sold in different sizes and we purchased the smaller pack. It is packaged in a cute little box which makes any girl’s day. To top it up, the service staff provided good service when attending to our orders. It’s definitely worth the try the next time you are at The Cathay for movies.

I realized they don't have it at all times but when they do, I'd take the opportunity to grab one for a 'complete' and wonderful movie experience since we'd usually purchase our movie tickets at the basement counter. They have 4 flavors, 2 savory and 2 sweet. Cheddar cheese and Sweet n Sour cream, Caramel and Caramel Almond respectively. I prefer my popcorn to be sweet so my pick will always be the caramel almond, sweet and heavy honey caramel coated with generous sugar glazed almond nuts. A super sweet treat which definitely needs a drink to go with. My boyfriend prefers salty popcorn though so he'd much love the Sweet n Sour cream as he claims the Cheddar Cheese to be 'smelly rotten', personal dislike. Only available at the basement of The Cathay though. I find that it's worth it to pay a bit more for Gourmet Popcorn than just the ordinary Sweet or Salted ones.
