My first impression towards Lor Mee was heavily starchy dish, frankly speaking I not really fancy about it. Until I tried the one at a humble stall located near Queenstown unintentionally, Lor Mee was actually something to satisfy my intense craving. As I said, the stall was nothing special but well-maintained by ladyboss. Not too big, it appeared neatly clean. This kind of Braised Noodle was authentic enough, not overly thick and diluted. Covered with various toppings included fish cakes, deep-fried stuffs, beansprouts and noodles, the bowl was considered as generous portion. Gravy was savoury and further enhanced by minced garlic put aside, stirred it up for a better taste. Never regret to order such well-balanced gravy, it was $3.00 per bowl. continue reading

Well, i was at Mei chin road for work that day and i get to try this. I didn't know that there was such awesome lor mee in this market. The queue was super long and thank god that i got a male colleague that was queuing for this stall and i asked him to me ordered. This lor mee was very nice, i particularly like the fried stuffs in it. it was crunchy and go well with the sauce. The sauce is thick and very nice. They used a different type of noodles as compare to other stalls (yellow noodles) which is very oily. Each bowl lor mee only costs $2.50! it was hard to find lor mee at price in Singapore! continue reading

There was a long queue when i went there but service was really quick. All the tables around had a bowl of this lor mee so i too had to try it for myself just how good it really was. They offered 2 sizes - $2.50 and $3. It came with generous portion of ingredients. Broth was perfect, had the right balance of savoury and sweet and thickness that complements well with the subtle taste of spices. it was so good i could not stop from drinking up all the broth even after finishing my noodles and ingredients (braised meat, fish nuggets, chicken, ngor hiang, fish cake and braised egg). continue reading

This lor mee here to me is much more appetitizing and also more filling too. The dark sauce gravy used in it is much more fragrant and filled with with the nice flavour from the different types of spices used in it. The noodles are also very chewy and not soggy too. The sliced meat rolls are also very tasty which goes very well with the gravy. With the added black vinegar and minced garlic to it is simply delicious. continue reading

I really love the lor mee from this stall. Just right in terms of thickness, the special gravy is delightfully savory and sweet with the subtle fragrance of spices. The outstanding lor mee comes with a generous variety of ingredients ranging from braised meat, fish nuggets, chicken, you tiao, ngor hiang, fish cake and braised egg.Definitely comparable with famous lor mee like Lorong Ah Soo, Tiong Bahru etc, Hai Tang lor mee is not only delicious but value for money. It is certainly worthwhile making a trip down to Mei Chin Food Centre just to try this lor mee. continue reading
