Spent an average of $60 per person.

Some of the food I tired

There are many Chinese steamboat places in Singapore that originates from China. A famous steamboat chain in China that serves "Ma La Huo Guo" has arrived in Singapore! That is non other than Hai Di Lao that has opened more than 80 branches in all parts of China. As my friend has tried the one Beijing, she was excited and thrilled when she found out that it has opened in Clarke Quay.

Really, what's so unique about Hai Di Lao? It's really the AWESOME SERVICE which I will elaborate throughout the post! Hence, we made our way to Hai do Lao!

All in all, we will definitely be back! We wouldn't mind the queue with such good service while waiting. But, if you're in a hurry, you might want to make reservations probably a week or two in advance! (Half-scale already need a week in advance).

I visited Hai Di Lao when I was in Shanghai last year. It had left me with such deep and good impression that I want to bring all my close friends to experience this place when it open their first branch in Singapore. It's quite a high class steamboat place. They are not your 19.90 buffet steamboat. When you walk in, you will be greeted with very friendly staff who will sit you down at their waiting area. While you are waiting for your table, you can have free flow of drinks, snacks and fruits.

 endly staff who will sit you down at their waiting area. While you are waiting for your table, you can have free flow of drinks, snacks and fruits. Their plum drink can be pretty addictive. They even have games to just keep you entertained while you wait for your table.

At the dinner table, you will be served by very polite and attentive wait staff who will assist you in everyway they can.

We ordered 2 types of soup, black chicken and mushroom. They are both so tasty. The food that were ordered are all very fresh and nice.

If you order noodle, you would even be surprised by the performance that they put up before they drop the $3 noodle into your pot.

 They even have a sauce station where there are all sorts of sauce for you to choose, mix and match to your likings. It was pretty amazing really!

This place is definitely worth your visit!

Decided to try this famous steamboat restaurant chain from China after seeing some pictures that my friends posted on instagram. I did not regret at all.We called to make a reservation and was advised that it will be very packed if we were to come at 6pm. So the lady told us maybe we could wait till 7pm. We called to make a reservation and was advised that it will be very packed if we were to come at 6pm. So the lady told us maybe we could wait till 7pm. Left our no. with them and they said they will try to get us a table when we arrive.

Arrived at 7pm. Went to counter to tell them that we called just now. And the waitress actually remembered our names. Pretty impressive. There was a waiting area outside where snacks/drinks were served while waiting. There was even a section for ladies to do their manicure while waiting.
There was a playground for kids too!
I was wow-ed.

Was seated within 10 minutes which was pretty lucky.
Maybe because we called earlier? Maybe they thought we were some VIP.
Nevertheless, we were happy to get a table so fast.

Orders are done through IPad and the waitress will advise on the serving size.
She told us to order half serving instead of full since there was only 2 of us.
We ordered the Ma La (obvious choice) and a non-spicy broth.

It was a pity I didn't took more pictures of the interior as it was very cosy and comfortable.
Food was fresh and came quick.
The waitresses were quick to service and help whenever we need.
Offered to peel the prawns for us.

I was very much impressed with the service.
They gave us an apron, a cloth to wipe my glasses, a ziplock bag for my handphone.
Oh!And a band for me to tie my hair up.
Awesome awesome service.
You have to go to experience it.


Will definitely go back again!
Spent $80 for 2 persons.
Slight expensive but for the service, I certainly do not mind.
