Proud to be the Singapore national dish, Chicken Rice stall was visible at every corner of major foodcourt or coffeeshop. Asking for the recommendation at Toa Payoh area, no one will deny Hainanese Suki Chicken Rice was the famous. Impossible to agree on which the best was, everyone had their own preferences. Humble hawker stall located opposite SPH Building, it was a lively coffeeshop during lunch time everyday. Occupied not too huge space, the stall appeared clean and neat. Running by a middle-aged couple, they were friendly and helping each other. Choices available were a lot, price indicated was reasonable too. It was basically a delicately plate roasted duck and meat served along with fragrant rice, looked appetizing. Flesh was succulent from heavily-flavoured, uplifting braised poured on top. Rice was fluffy with a hint of buttery and garlic aromatic, filling and spoonful every mouth bite. Perfectly matched with decent soup, it tasted simply homely and warm. Overall was wonderful smoky, traditionally a nice meal. Portion was rather generous, cost at $3.50.
