Han's is always crowded at JEM and I finally had the time to try out their cakes. It was the worst coffee break that I ever had. The coffee was sour and overly sweet. At $1.50, it is cheap but I would definitely not purchase it again. Coffee cake $3.50the cake was too sweet too and lacked the coffee flavour. Strawberry almond flan $4.50this was also too sweet. Even though the cakes looked good, the taste was otherwise. Verdict: Won't go back again.

I headed to Han's Cafe for tea after shopping. I decided to order their tuna puff and rest for a bit. Their tuna puff is really delicious. the pastry was really crispy. One bite and it flakes completely. you can smell and taste this buttery fragrance among the pastry. the tuna was seasoned perfectly. it did not have the fishy smell. seasoned with black pepper, it gave the puff some hotness. i was very satisfied.

Hans has affordable set lunches and do head there if you're thinking affordable plus quality food! I ordered a grilled fish dory set ($9.80) that comes with soup of the day and a drink of your choice. There's no extra service charge or GST as it's all included in the price that you see on the menu already. The soup comes with garlic bread as well. It tastes quite hard so you've to dip the bread into the soup! The mushroom soup is quite nice. The grilled dory fish was quite a thick slice, and I didn't think it was that nice, not much flavour. It's as though the marinating wasn't done properly and I was just eating a normal piece of white steamed fish that was slightly grilled. Adding some lemon juice over the fish didn't help to improve the taste at all. However the coleslaw and wedges were great! Even so, I will still come back to hans to try their spaghetti next time!

If you are out with big groups and looking for a fair variety of local to western delicacies then Hans can be one of your choice. Through their menu the ranged from curry chicken, fried rice, hor fun... to sandwiches, burgers, chicken chop, grilled fish... do note that lunch menu is only available after 1130, before that they have western breakfast. The chicken chop set comes along with soup, garlic bread and drink @ $11.80. The chicken chop was tender and tasty, served with baby carrots and wedges. do check out the soup! it's one of my favourite! it's really nice I would say.
