When my mother and me reached there, the waiter was helpful in leading us to a table for seat and look at their menu. I was quite surprised that they serve ala carte as well as sets for dinner in Central at Clarke Quay.We ordered 2 sets, one is Sundubu Dinner Set ($12.99) and the other is Daeji Bulgogi Dinner Set ($12.99) - came with miso & rice because we wished to have rice and soup. That's why these sets are a good option.I found that the service is just nice because the waiter came to apologise with my mother for late in serving her dinner set by giving complimentary Kimchi and Salad.Since they served Singapore Best Food, I decided to spend time in writing this dining guide so that people will visit this Japanese BBQ restaurant after reading my food review. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to ask the cashier whether is there any promotion on mother's day after making my payments. Conclusion: Harimaya is still a relatively good dining choice where you can enjoy Japanese barbecue meat at authentic taste. continue reading

Today I had lunch at another Japanese BBQ Restaurant - Haramiya, located at 6 Eu Tong Sen Street #03-87 The Central, Singapore 151897. The number to dial is 6534 9468. This is an interesting Japanese restaurant that also serves Korean dishesThe menus comprise of many items - beef sets, pork sets, chicken sets, and cooked items such as Biblimbap sets as well as rice dishes. Finally the meals were being served. The Korubuta Pork set lunch (SGD$15.99) - consisting of tender strips of black pork, a salad with sesame paste gravy, water-melon slices, a bowl of Miso Soup, a bowl of Japanese rice and small plate of Kimchi. We had to grill the meat ourselves, which made dining fun and enjoyable, engaging everyone literally. The Korubuta Pork is tender and the meat is sweeter and softer than normal pork, and of course when grilled to crispiness, it was utterly tasty. The Karubi Beef set lunch (SGD$14.99) - well marinated and succulent slices of beef that, too, when grilled to perfection, filled the tastebuds with the delicate aroma of good beef. The beef is cut into fine, small slices to make it easy for eating. We experimented with different done-ness for this meat and it still tasted good. For more detailed information and photos, do visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2014/04/lunch-at-haramiya-japanese-bbq.html continue reading

Chanced upon this restaurant back last year when we were looking for food in Central. It has a jap name and seems like a fusion restaurant but the food selection are more towards korean. The restaurant is quite big and judging from its gold and glittering entrance, I first thought it was a high class expensive place till I saw its menu.We have tried its bbq sets the last round, the bbq pork belly was nice and flavorful, and the price was very reasonable.Recently, I was back to try the korean Bibimbap set lunch. At only $4.99 (before service charge), it also includes a soup, side dish of kimchi and a serving of fruits. The bibimbap is delicious and very filling and satisfying too! The restaurant also serves complimentary ice roasted tea. Where else can you find such a good deal! Even korean food stalls in foodcourts dont sell their bibimbap so cheap, even after adding up the service charges, it is still a very good deal, not to mention this is a set meal with complimentary drinks too! There are other lunch set meals from $8.90 onwards too, a great place for good food at reasonable prices! continue reading

Haramiya is a Japanese BBQ restaurant but seems to be a fusion of several different elements. For example, on the outside, it might look like an oriental Chinese restaurant but one look at the menu, you can see that it serves Japanese and Korean cuisine. My friend and I were wandering around the shopping mall, and decided to dine there, having been attracted to their attracted menu prices. My friend and I ordered the Korean Bibimbap set which came with quite a few sides, as can be seen on the picture above. There was beansprouts with carrot, tofu, as well as kimchi, salad and even fruits. The kimichi was a little meagre but I guess I couldn’t really begrudge them based on the total number of sides served. I didn’t really enjoyed my bibimbap because it consists of minced meat which I do not really like. However the meal does look appetizing with the egg yolk nestling in the middle of the dish.Although the outside of the restaurant looks quite intimidating, they do offer set meals at affordable prices so it is an alternative dining option. Would look forward to trying out their barbeque food items next time. continue reading

The Bibimbap here at Haramiya Restaurant is very good and flavorful with lots of ingredients such as carrot, minced pork, green vegetables, mushroom and egg. It is priced at a very affordable price of $4.99 during lunch and comes as a set with kimchi, salad, miso soup and refreshing green tea. Nice restaurant setting with really delicious & affordable food. continue reading
