Hatchy SlidersIt’s a dish comprising of mini burgers, one filled with grilled chicken and another with bacon. The grilled chicken was topped with sugary sauce that gave a wonderful lingering taste left in the mouth after swallowing it. The buns were fluffy and soft toasted with egg, giving a savoury taste even when eating the bun on its own. The eggs were “infiltrated” into the dish thus, would be good for non egg lovers too! No wonder this is a chef’s recommendation!

This is my first time at hatched so i decided to order the safer choices like the burly benedict, sir benedict and the salmon one which i didn't really catch the name of it. Firstly, for the sir benedict it comes with raw lettuce, mash potato and the eggs benedict had bacon, ham on top of the muffin followed by the poached egg. Love this the most as the bacon is very crispy and the whole thing was just perfect. Did not try the salmon one as i don't really eat salmon. The burly benedict has the s

The burly benedict has the same combination except that they replaced the bacon and ham with corn beef this time. Both were great too but the price is also rather steep. One egg would costs $12 and if you get two egg it would be $18.

This is a great place for Breakfast! I had an awesome stacked toast. First layer of egg and bread/french toast with bacon and banana, another layer of french toast completed with s sliced of banana. The bananas are lightly toasted and caramelized. It is really tasty! Honestly, i'm not a banana lover but for this, i'm willing and able to accept it. I will definitely be back for more!

If you are a lover of eggs or love eating eggs, you will have to go to hatched restaurant. Their menu is quite cute and it offers you a variety of dishes using eggs as their main ingredients. They have many styles to cook their eg, like steam, boiled, poached, scrambled. The overall dish looks nice in terms of their presentation, and for their taste, it taste good too! Finished it off with a hot cup of tea or coffee, you will definitely feel satisfied.

It’s a good place to settle down for brunch after morning walk. The heavy meal is just enough to satisfy the craving for something unhealthy after perspiration. They offer both indoor and outdoor environment so people who doesn’t like to stay in aircon environment have an alternative. Simple pleasures that tou don’t have to spend big bucks to enjoy!

Location is perfect for a relaxing weekend brunch. Hatched is tucked away in comfy Evans Lodge near the Botanical Gardens, where you can take the kids afterwards. So far, of all the “baby friendly” places we’ve tried, this has been the best compromise of quality, price, and comfort.

After reading so many good reviews on this, I decided to go try it out myself. Indeed, I wasn’t disappointed. The bacon wasn’t as salty as the bacons other restaurants served. The egg was exceptionally good! I have never found egg this tasty before! However, the serving size was really small considering for the price of it. I wasn’t full after eating… but still, good food!

Finally! A place that sells all day breakfast and nothing else - a casual eatery by the name of Hatched, which apparently is the brainchild of a former SAF scholar who probably decided that eggs and breakfast were his calling.

The eatery is housed in Evans Lodge, a rather dilapidated building along Evans Road that is home to a prata shop as well. The interior of the place is charmingly cozy, with bright sunlight frittering through the side windows. Capacity probably peaks at about 30 people or less, making reservations a must, especially on weekends. Special mention goes to the menu, which is extremely colourful and cute but probably caters more to the ladies then guys.

Dippy Eggs and Soldiers - Cutesy names and aesthetically pleasing food presentation aside, this dish didn't wow one bit. The dipping bread sticks looked tantalising but had a funny mildly rancid taste while the soft boil eggs didn't taste anything out of the ordinary (Read. Your local coffeeshop standard). A pity there wasn't enough Parmesan cheese or limp bacon bits to go around.

Burly Benedict - This was a double portion and it sure wasn't big. The eggs were nicely poached but the muffin wasn't spongy enough for my liking and was overly greasy. However, the major disappointment came in the form of the corned wagyu beef, which was a little rubbery and tasted very processed. It didn't help that the salt content was excessively high as well.

Croque Madam - The Ciabatta bread was rock hard and I mean it literally. I had to muster up quite a bit of strength in order to cut through it with my knife. Seriously, hurling it at someone could have caused a minor concussion. The grilled kurobuta ham tasted no different from ordinary ham which makes it a waste of good pork. The side of mashed potato could have done with a little butter but at least the mushroom drizzle was decent.

Papillote - I thought that the smoked salmon was a tad too salty for my liking, masking the taste of the scrambled eggs. A very normal dish to say the least. I don't even know why we paid $12 for it. Well, at least the tomato was nice.

Ever had the feeling of being full but not the least bit satisfied Well that was what we felt after our brunch. I like the vibe and decor of the place (save for the less then ideal car park lots) and I like the culinary concept. However, food quality treads in the average zone and the long waiting time for the food doesn't exactly help things. Lets hope, for Hatched's sake, that they buck up because I hate to see such a concept go to waste.

Everything on the menu has eggs included in one way or another, Baked, Scrambled, Fried, Boiled. Most of their meals are light meals, suitable for brunch. Tried their Hitch Me Up lovers breakfast. Wow it was good! Enjoyed it alot! Service is pretty good too! Staff recommended us some signature dishes.

We were quickly shown to our table, food arrived quickly, and service was good. Both my boyfriend and I ordered poach egg dishes. My dish rocked! As always, the eggs were perfectly runny, and I loved the saltiness on my plate. One poached egg sat atop ham and bacon whilst the other sat atop minced beef, both cradled in soft english muffins. When poked apart, the yolk oozed out to drench whatever sits beneath in its goodness. Boyfriend loved his poached eggs with smoked salmon as well, complimenting its savory saltiness as I did with my dish. However, I didn't quite like the sauteed potatoes which they replaced the usual side of homemade mash with.

There were hits and then there were misses. Minimal decorations were placed up for this 'celebration'. All they had that I could see was a silver foil balloon shaped in a numerical 2. The atmosphere was too 'busy' for my liking - for the special occasion, they have placed tables in the lobby area outside the cafe itself to expand seating capacity, which looked kind of disoriented. The couples were all placed at one side, with our tables so close to each other our elbows were knocking with the couple's at the next table.

The egg-shaped pancakes with cream cheese, bacon bits and walnuts which I was looking forward to most were a letdown. The bacon bits looked and tasted more like char siew and the thick slab of cream cheese was concentrated in the middle. They served this dish together with the 2 mains, so perhaps it had been left to cool a little whilst on our table, resulting in a lacklustre dish as pancakes have to be eaten whilst piping hot.

there are not that many all day breakfast places in Singapore, much less one that scores hits all round. i love the rustic cosiness of the establishment, and hope to one day be able to mimic the feel that Hatched has created in their very simple, yet super effective interior design to my own dining room-kitchen decorations. i love the quiet calmness the restaurant lends to the people seated in there. but most of all, i love how they love the food they serve.

the thing about Hatched is how they pay such close attention to the details on the plates they serve. from the presentation of how the food is stacked or displayed, to how they add little decorations here and there, to the way they make sure that their buns are all nicely seasoned and toasted, and how every individual items, especially their eggs are SO perfectly cooked, like Perfectly Cooked. i've tried their pancakes party, sir benedict, cowboy burger, sleepover, philly and croque madame and not once have something been out of place. although all of them were so very delish, i will always, always come back for their poached eggs, namely sir benedict.

this trip round, to celebrate another monthsary, we dropped by Hatched again for yet another Perfect little date.

kudos to their hot chocolate for not tasting like 'just milo'.

everything on their menu's just so flawless there's really not much i can say, but i do selfishly hope Hatched will remain this way, for a long time coming
