The soup is good after heating up and taste sweet and clear soup texture. Like the Salmon fish 2 slice with teriyaki sauce and Miso soup. Served with tenppan style hot plate. Both main dishes also served with a bowl of rice.

I found this rice are not original Japanese rice. So too bad. The topping also not there will their famous teriyaki sauce so a little disappointing.

Here are some of the appetizers that you can help yourself. The chawamushi wasn't too bad, the rest weren't really worth the calories.

The food wasn't great, but it can be a good chillout spot for those who love chawamushi like me! Free flow!

But last night for a friend's birthday, they suggested this place so i finally get to try it after all. Basically you order a main course and it will come with the semi buffet spread which may not have a wide range but some are pretty good and i quite like it. For free flow drinks, just top up $2.99 and you can help yourself to whatever range of drinks they have there.

For the mains, we saw these 3 specials and we ordered one each ( Tori Katsuni $12.99 , Hayashi Omelette $14.99 , Saba Teriyaki $13.99 ). Personally i like the Saba since i got craving for fish and this was quite yummy.

For the semi buffet, i forgot to try the chawanmushi but i personally like the sweet potato sticks ( not sure what's the sticky sweet coating but can be quite addictive ), this cracker snack which comes with a dip that was in a big pot right next to it and also this cucumber seaweed salad dish which i find it quite refreshing.

For the price we paid ($60 for 3 pax), i will definitely come back again as the price is reasonable and i like the range of food.

Once I have reached the restaurant outside, I was immediate serve by the friendly and cheerful service staff and brought into the restaurant.  Is quite spacious and cooling here.  Furnishings were simple and comfortable.  Bought the Sanma Shioyaki, which is also known as the salt-grilled sanma fish set at merely $13.99, which comes with free flow salad bar.  Fish was fresh and soft in texture, with no stingy smell.  Onion soup, from the buffet bar, was thick and creamy, wasn't too bad.

Both main cones with rice. We spent $30 ++ overall quite satisfying meal however there can be room for improvement as some appetizers at the buffet are cold items which we are not very used to. Have more warm or hot item would be good. It can be quite crowded during lunch hour.

I have not seen a lot of Japanese restaurants offering all-you-can-eat appetiser bar, so this was a pretty new concept to me. Most appetisers were Japanese-style. There are quite a handful of appetisers to choose from, but taste wise it's just average. For my main, I thought it could use a little more ingredients in the dish. The matcha dessert is to die for, though! Love the matcha soup and rice dumplings. A great way to end off the meal.

Ordering my main course, Teriyaki Chicken Rice set was appealing. Tender chicken with sweet tangy sauce, it matched perfectly with the plain rice. Portion was all right, it was filling and sufficient for one serving. Appetizer was scrumptiously made up by potato salad, tofu gratin, jelly fish, pumpkin, cheese fondue, rice cracker and assorted veggies. Side dishes were in special recipe, freshness of fish was impressive. For conclusion, Hifumi was indeed value for money which the price stated down in Menu was wallet-friendly. We enjoyed our visit, worth a try.

Saw this new restaurant with quite a queue at the new wing of marina square and decided to give it a try. Service was abit slow as the manager have to help customer to settle bill and usher customer in at the same time. However, food is served pretty fast, before i even finish my appetiser.

I ordered the paper wrapped chicken. The only plus point is that the food is reli hot, i open the wrap only after about 15-20 mins after it was served (eating appetiser in the meantime), and it was still piping hot. However, taste wise is kind of average. The chicken taste too bland with abit of "frozen meat" taste, while the sause is slightly spicy and not to my liking.

My gf ordered the pork katsuni, which looks rather good for its price. However, the tonkatsu that came was abit undercooked, can see that the meat in the middle section is still reddish. I checked with the waiter and they did change and reserve us another one that was cooked properly. The tonkatsu taste quite well, the meat isnt too tough and the egg is cooked just right (not too raw nor too overcooked).

Appetiser wise, taste pretty good, with a number of choices which taste decent enough.

Generally, the restaurant is very affordable considering its free flow appetiser. However, food and service wise have much room for improvements.

Pork Cutlet with Omelet~ Gravy is not too salty, egg omelet is fluffy and not over cooked!

Huge serving especially the ingredients...small serving of rice is great so diners can target more on the salad bar.

For less than $20, a 'Sizzle' experience. The potion for the main was slightly littler but there is an all-you-can-eat side dish. So it is OK!!!

A wide range appetizers and snacks are available while you wait for your main dish. THe appeitzers apparently change from time to time so to try everything you'll have to visit Hifumi during different times (Well played Hifumi). What drew me was this big bowl of melted cheese you could mix with various vegetables and snacks. They had chawanmushi as well that was hot and generous with fillings such as mushrooms and crabmeat. The appetizers do run out fast, so keep a look out for refills when they come and make a rush for it!

I ordered the Paper Baked Chicken which was considered a healthy choice in the menu. The chicken came piping hot and the meat was tender and well marinated. Not exceptional but a decent meal complimented by all the appetizer dishes. Rice was unnecessary as I was pretty full from the appetizers already!

One thing to note is that the Appetizer Bar area is pretty cramp and crowded at times (and no one seems to know how to queue) but thats just a minor issue! Good food, good variety, happy meal!

I had pork cutlet with egg as my main (SGD $13.90++). To my disappointment, it wasn't very tasty. the pork is too hard and not very well marinated. Gotta eat it together with the egg to taste slightly better.

In total i paid $19 for this meal. quite value for money due to the free flow of sides.
