Hogs breath cafe is pretty poplar in Australia, and has one of the nicest steak in Singapore, but few people was there in the restaurant when i went on a weekday afternoon. Set lunches are available, but there can be ongoing credit card promotions that can be as good as 1-for-1 main course. I had the cream cheese avocado steak, and being my usual greedy self, i upsized my steak to 300g (usually 200g is served) for an extra $7. I had medium steak, and this is one of the few places that actually give me decent medium steak that isn't oozing with blood, or cooked till tough. The meat is juicy, tender, and goes great with the sauce. But the portion is too huge, such that i did not touch my sides at all. A great place to go for decent steak! continue reading

Use to visit Hog’s Breath quiet often but as there was only 1 outlet left I seldom visit but today I got a craving for their food so when to CHIJMES(expensive parking charges). I ordered the natural prime rib steak, I paid extra $8 to upgrade the meat to a Aussie beef. Grilled beef has a strong char aroma that tantalize me just by looking at it. Mouthwatering well done beef glazed with cracked pepper sauce YUM ! Curly fries were hot and crispy; corn was sweet and vegetables are fresh and crunchy. What a perfect meal. continue reading

It was my first visit here with my cousins on a hot Sunday. The interior deco of the place was welcoming with a rustic touch of vintage. Upon looking at the menu, I was spoilt for choice. I ordered a pint of beer and fish & chips. It tasted normal but I believe the signature dishes were the red meats. We ordered desserts like the sundae and mudpie. We felt that the mudpie tasted quite bad. My cousin described the taste as 'burnt tires'. continue reading

We come from Australia and when we saw Hog's Breath, we thought, oh great! Aussie burgers! So we went there for dinner and decided to try the biggest beef burger they had. It was supposed to be the equivalent of the Boss Burger in Hog's Breath Australia. It came after about 25 min, but strangely, it wasn't hot. Even McDonald's burgers arrive hotter.Let's break down this burger:It consists of 2 patties. In Australia, a beef burger patty is usually made of 100% beef. The ones in this burger seemed to be made of 40% beef and 60% fillers (starch or something). It was the blandest burger ever! Even Macca's burgers taste better! It also felt soggy and weird. Never had such a burger in my life! The cheese didn't seem like fresh cut cheese, but appeared to be those Kraft singles that come processed and wrapped in single serves. The curly fries that accompanied this burger were all the end bits of the fries. So its all crispy burnt crunchy fries. It's like eating spiky french fries which have been shaped into open circles. We felt like we had eaten a whole meal of cardboard and sawdust after that. Maybe we've been spoilt by places which serve REAL burgers, so this was too awful for us to handle. continue reading

my friend suggested we go to hog's breathe to celebrate a fellow classmate's birthday. i seldom go to this place as the food price is very pricey. i ordered their steak, it was accompanied with fries and salad. their steak is very tender and juicy, it simply melts in your mouth. the salad is very crisp and refreshing. the fries is very crunchy and fried till golden brown. food wise, indeed they served really nice food, but price wise, it is too pricey in my opinion, but no harm treating yourself to good food once in a while right? continue reading
