I tried out the desserts at Honeymoon Dessert last weekend. There are a lot of different desserts from hot to cold and there are also different categories of desserts available from ice cream to beancurd to pastes etc etc, you will definitely be spoilt for choice. I am a traditional person so I still preferred the traditional desserts. I got the sesame paste for myself. I felt that the sesame taste somehow seems to be lacking that day, the paste is just not fragrant enough. The paste is still rather thick but it was a disappointment because the sesame flavour did not come out. I hope it is just a once off incident since I have had this before previously and it was good. continue reading

The place is peaceful and quiet probably due to the non-peak hours when we dined here. We ordered the Papaya with white fungus. The waiting time for the dessert was average. love this dessert because it's sweet and healthy , white fungus is good for the lungs while papayas is good for the women's body and skin. The papaya was soft and wasn't unripe.Katong I12 previously known as Katong Mall to some of us 80s/90s people has upgraded their carpark and there's usually many lots there (except weekends), make sure you enter by East Coast Road, and not the TGIF side, the guards will re-route you or tell you no entry. continue reading

FoodTo have a bowl of chill dessert after a meal if you have "spare space" in your stomach is wonderful especially during a hot night! We have a bowl of bean curd with preserved peaches with mocha ice cream.Dont really facy preserved peaches as they are too artificial for me. I will prefer the fresh fruits. I love the mocha ice cream as it is filled with green tea taste! Bean curd is average and cannot be compared to "Lao Ban's". Overall what I really enjoy is the chilled feeling it brings out.ServiceService is kind of slow. We waited quite sometime for everything. The waitress are gives us a feeling that they are so lethargic and drag themselves in every move.AmbienceAmbience quite good. Located near the escalator of the mall and in an open air dinning manner. Good and cooling. PricePrice is pretty standard. Abit steep for such dessert, I will only spend such money once in a blue moon.Recommendation / TipsTheir service standards has to be improved. continue reading

This is a small cafe, less well appointed than its sister outlets at Bugis Junction and 313 Somerset. It is a eat & go place when we want authentic Hong Kong style desserts without paying service charge & GST. Prices are very reasonable with warm desserts like the red bean soup with lotus seeds priced from $2.80 nett while chilled desserts such as the ice blended fruit juices are priced from $3.90nett.We had the almond paste, sesame paste and walnut paste. They were all rich, thick and smooth. The almond paste is perfect for soothing parched throats. The sesame paste was fragrant & robust in flavour. The walnut paste, which is not commonly found in SG, was made from finely ground, roasted walnuts ~ it was creamy & fragrant without any greasy aftertaste that comes only when inferior nuts are used. continue reading

This dessert show located at Katong area is certainly one of the most popular shops around here. Many youngsters and students often visit this shop to have their favourite desserts. As for me, I quite fancinated by their green tea cold dessert. The green tea ice cream is very thick and creamy and full of the natural flavour of the green tea. The icy milky dressing is also very delicious which is not too sweet too. The presentation is quite nice and the price is consider quite reasonable since the serving is generous too. continue reading
