Signature Dishes
Had the curry claypot fish head at Hong Guan after a visit to a relative. The curry cooked is fragrance and one can easily ate at least 2 bowls of rice just with the curry sauce. The fish head used is fresh too, and it doesn't have the very fish smell. Other than fish head, there's also lady's finger and the usual compliments with the fish head. Also ordered the sweet and sour pork and vegetables dish and it was good as well.

My friends and I went for dinner at this hawker centre and we ordered many different dishes from different stalls. One of it is the sweet sour pork “gu lau rou”. It is basically pork cut into cubes and then coated with flour and deep fried. The sauce used to coat it is sweet and sour, giving rise to the name of this dish. What I love about it is that the tastes are actually contrasting, and yet complementary when paired together. The meat to flour portion is also right, not too much flour, so no worries about eating a mouthful of flour instead of meat. This stall’s specialty is curry, so maybe next time we will try that.
