Presentation cant tell how good from these set of Wantan Mee. In fact, I was quite disappointed to the scattered Char Siew Meat on top of our plates as they were inconsistent but that was just mere first impression afterall.

Uninteresting, it may seem but the noodles were good and differences are distinctive. Thin and springy,a definite sign of authentic Hong Kong Noodles.Doused with sweet light soy sauce and chilli, it complemented well. It was good when the spiciness kicks in as I "chomp" them down with these lean pieces of BBQ pork. Yummy!

Not to mentioned that the wantans were different too, they have bites of chestnuts rolled up by the minced meat and wrapped by the smooth faint yellow wantan skin. Soup base was special too and pack with hints of prawns taste.

If you still have room for dumplings, do try their prawn dumplings too. Dumplings fillings were generous!

Char siew wanton noodles $3The wantons were quite small and they did not taste fabulous but was quite acceptable. The char siew on the other hand were tender and thinly sliced. They tasted rather yummy even though I am not a fan of char siew. The chilli was not at all spicy and it complemented well with the noodles. There was quite a bit of a queue and waiting time was approximately 10 minutes.

Fresh prawn dumpling noodles $3.Price was very reasonable at only $3. There were 4 big prawn dumplings, each had a prawn in it. The noodles were quite springy and texture was very smooth. The soup had a lot of flavour and a hint of peppery taste but I'm not sure if they had added msg in it. The gravy was not at all salty and was just right when paired up with the noodles.Recommended!

The constant snaking queueThere is always a queue for this stall as you can see in the photo above. Ordered the wanton noodles ($4, upsized from the usual $3) and the chicken feet with mushroom noodles ($3). The noodles are really springy - good! As for the sauces used, it's pretty tasty as well. Although the chilli given does not seem a lot, but be warned that it's really hot! The wanton are quite small and just tastes pretty normal. The wanton are quite small and just tastes pretty normal. Char siew is not bad, it's mostly well-marinated lean meat with the edges slightly charred. As for the chicken feet, it's quite tasty as well, nicely braised.

This famous Hong Kong style Wantan noodle stall Hong Ji Mian Shi Jia operated since 1959 is located in Concenters' canteen along Killiney Road. Extract from their advertisement-'The noodles were amazing which thin & slightly translucent, with a distinctive almost crunchy bite.' I really enjoyed the Wantan and noodles very much, but disappointed about the Char Siew which is hard and chewy. The price is fair for $2.50 per plate.

Had a try out at this stall for lunch with colleagues today. Found that surprisingly, their Wanton mee is quite springy and with black sauce. Quite close to the malaysia version style of wanton noodle whereby our black sauce is salty instead of sweet! Their wanton soup is great too and tasty but sad to say that the wanton skin is too thick. Hence a bit disappointing.
