Over the national day weekend, I went to Bugis Junction to do my shopping. While walking past the Hong Kong Egglet stall, I saw that they had two new flavours for sale, the strawberry egglet and the durian egglet. The strawberry egglet was $2.80 while the durain egglet was $3.80. I was curious as to how it would taste like, hence I made an order of one strawberry egglet. The strawberry egglet batter was pink in colour and the stall helper also added some reddish stuff into the batter. Even after I tasted it, I can't really tell what are those reddish stuff, it seems like it is preserved plums cut into very small pieces. Anyway, it does not really taste like strawberry taste but the taste is still nice. However, I think not everyone will take to this flavour, so it is better if you order it when you have someone else with you so that you can share it. The next time I order, I will ask the person to put less of the reddish stuff as it seems like there is too much colouring in it.
