The Hong Kong Egglet is a kind of egg waffles which has been very popular on the streets of Hong Kong and one of the favourite street snack since the 1950s. I always heard about through variety shows and also from food bloggers but missed the chance upon having it. Bought the original flavour at $2.20. It was so crispy like you are having crackers and can break it up into one little round egglet for easy consumption. This is indeed a great snack with that crunchy sound in your mouth. I do taste a little spongy within the egglet which is nice to chew on too. continue reading

Bought a piece of this famous chocolate egglet from this IMM outlet. Have joined quite a long queue and took me queue for around ten minutes before is my turn to place my order. At merely $2.80 per big piece, is cheap and great to share with another friend. The outer crust is very crunchy and very nice to chew. The chocolate flavour was really fragrant and the egglets are not too sweet and super delicious! The staffs here are also friendly too. continue reading

I saw many people queuing when I was waiting for my wife outside Crystal Jade hence I decided to order one egglet as well. I got the chocolate flavour egglet which costs $2.80. The wait is around 10 minutes. The bag used to store the egglet has holes in them so as to ensure that the heat is not trapped within the bag, ensuring that the egglet is not soggy. It isn't an issue to me as I am planning to eat it immediately and it is very crispy. There are also bits of chocolate chips added to the egglet which results in bursts of chocolate flavour when biting into them. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It seems like a lot of people order the cheese egglet so I may try that next time. continue reading

My favourite snack in Hongkong finally franchised here, being the first outlet in Singapore that sells the HK Egglets.I ordered original flavoured egglets. Light and mellow tasting crispy bits and chewy portions, while at the same time a great taste without filling up your tummy so it makes the perfect mouth itching snack. Visually appealing as well for both the packaging / logo and the food itself, this is definitely a hit with the young crowds and even kids. There are many other flavours which this store offers, and would try it again in time to come! continue reading

I have been wanting to try this for the longest time and I finally had the chance to try it. Since I am a first timer, I decided to buy the original egglette so that I could appreciate the taste more. The waiting time is around 10minutes being a weekend. When I finally got it, I could not stop eating it. It is very crispy and a little chewy on the shells which has more flour. The taste is very fragrant and it is not too sweet, which explains why I kept reaching for more. The other flavours are more expensive depending on what you order. There is also milk tea sold if you want the full Hong Kong experience. continue reading
