I think the food really differs by outlets. The branch at Vivo have the best quality of food as compared here. I had their minced meat fries. It is hot but abit too bland to my liking. The fries aren't crispy as well. Same goes to their garlic bread. Don't think it was even toasted in the first place. I don't really taste that much of garlic other than butter. The bread is actually soft!

Walked past Kim Gary whenever I shop in Cold Storage but never get the chance to try. Finally decided to hop in because of the 1 for 1 offer after 9.30pm. I tried the hot and spicy noodles with pork chop when I was in JB so I thought it would be interesting to try the chicken wings one. I like the springy feeling of the noodles. It wasn 't over cooked. The soup base was also very yummy. There were 2 chicken wings (with the drum stick) included with the noodles. And I can say that the quality of their food is across the board (well, at least between JB and Singapore). $8.80

I always feel so delighted and excited when my friends suggest to me to have our gatherings at this Hong Kong Cafe. We decided to eat at this Hong Kong Kim Gary Restaurant at Tampines 1 on a Saturday late afternoon, since it has been quite a while that I ate some Hong Kong cuisine. ;) It was 5+pm and the lunch special menu was still applicable as it is applicable till 6pm! Haha what a good way to save some $ by having an early dinner. I ordered the A-Mix Set Meal ($10.90++): grilled chicken steak, pork chop, sunny side up, ham, hotdog, black-pepper spaghetti and boiled vegetables. A small cup of cream soup

I think this set is very value for money. Delicious & filling too! Oh for those who may not be able to take spicy food very well, think twice before asking for black pepper sauce to go with your spaghetti. I take spicy food, but I find that the pepper got too spicy as I ate, and had to drink lots of water after eating to cool my tongue.

If u happen to be at Vivo City or Tampines in the late afternoon, and feel hungry, maybe this restaurant will be a great place for you to satisfy your hunger pangs without burning a big hole in your wallet.

this time round i chose cream soup since i have been drinking the borsh soup everytime i visited. the cream soup is much more delicious as i thought it would be. it taste very rich and creamy with corn and carrots. yummy!

we ordered a yinyang (coffee and milk tea combi) and honey lemon. the yinyang is great, the bitterness of the coffee is slight musk by the milky taste of the tea. a refreshing drink. the honey lemon taste really good too. they are very generous with the honey, but the drink is not too sweet. very good for the voice.

as for the main course, we had the nissin noodles aka instant noodles with luncheon meat and egg. the soup is very tasty, not too salty. the noodles is very qq. the luncheon meat they use isnt too salty, just a nice combi.

the pork chop baked rice is really good. the pork chop is really tender and juicy unlike some pork chop u eat outside, tough as rubber. they are very generous with the rice portion and the cheese toppings. really yummy.

my friend also order the beef beef rice, the beef is sliced quite thinly. topped with the cheese. it is awesome!

As for me, I wanted something soupy so I ordered the soup noodle with Sliced Beef and Szechuan Vegetable. It was a big bowl of noodles and there were many slices of well marinated beef that were so tender. It came with a generous portion of vegetable too. Delicious.

For my drink, it was refreshing and taste just nice. If you have eaten very oily or fattenng food, it will be just perfect to have the drink. I had a very satisfying meal. Will go back again.

After looking through the many menus, I decided on the Nissian Noodle with Beef Steak. The noodles was very tangy and it came with a generous portion of beef steak. The beef steak was very tender and rich in flavour. You could easily take a bite and it will detach from the main piece. The portion was quite huge and I could not finish the bowl of noodles.

I had also order the milk tea and it was thick with smooth texture. Very nice. I will definitely have this restuarant in my radar list for food.

As a HK-born Singaporean, I love it when there's good HK food to be found here. Kim Gary's one of those places that gives you good-enough HK-fare, although one can hardly call it authentic - other than the fact that you can speak canto in the restaurant and be understood.

My girlfriends and I had dinner there cos its affordable and well, HK-gals would rather naturally choose it.

My fave is the Red Bean Ice - their red beans are really well cooked, sweet and flavourful, and cooked to a softness that's easily tasted with the straw, yet not like sand. The milk they use also goes well with it.

My food was a bowl of Shanghai-style (see, what hk-style? haha) Vegetable Rice with Fish. The veggies (leafy veggies and a piece of broccoli) were cooked just nice, and the rice was ok. The fish was fine too. Average stuff lah. A little small for the price though. It's enough to just nice fill you up, but nothing to rave about. Although it's freshness was good.

The girls had humongous bowls of korean-style noodles that fascinated us with just the size. The bowls were huge! The noodles looked good and had lots of beansprouts - good for those who like their veggies.

The atmosphere there is comfortable, with the staff appearing to clear your dishes at just the right time, and being general unobtrusive. However, getting them to fetch the bill is a 3-gal exercise. 3 hands raised for almost half a minute. Busy day I suppose.

The best part about this Kim Gary is the 1-for-1 promotion after 9.30. If I ever need a late dinner, I'll probably be back again. Good enough food in a nice atmosphere at good enough prices. Ok la.
