I dined at Hongguo.  I ordered 2 side dishes.  They are Szechuan chicken basket and Garlic Cucumber. The szechuan chicken costs $7.80.  It is spicy with dried chilli fried with cube chicken and nuts.  The aroma is strong and pleasant.  I also ordered the garlic cucumber.  The garlic cucumber costs $3.80.  The portion is reasonable for half of the cucumber is served.  It is socked with graded black sauce.  The cucumber is crunchy and chilled.

Everywhere was crowded at Chinatown Point so my friend decided to settle his dinner here - there wasnt any queue. I ordered the dumpings as i wanted something spicy. It was so-so.The soup is surprising still hot when he's almost finished with the noodles and the soup taste decent. The noodle set is quite interesting as it came like that, and my friend was supposed to pour in the ingredients and it will be cooked. It was a pumpkin dish.. dont really taste good. Not enough pumpkin to start with. The

The wolfberry chrysanthemum is not very sweet which is good.

Overall, the food is so so. Will not return unless the rest of the places are with long queue.

Went to Honguo for dinner; have tried their vermicelli previously, which was not bad. I would recommend trying their salted egg pumpkin as a side, which was quite delicious. The white bait was also not bad. I had their XO fried rice, portion was big and rice was fragrant. My friend had the black pepper beef fried rice - I liked the rice as the black pepper taste was very strong, and more peppery than average. Overall a pleasant meal which is not too expensive - the rice was around $8+.

I tried their Cross Bridge Vermicelli, which for $8.50 entitles 15 different saucers of ingredients together with a bowl of vermicelli. The waitress will offer to add everything in before serving to the table, which i had to agree due to the lack of space on the table, but lost the novelty of having so many small dishes placed out in front of me. And the end result? I cant even see the 15 ingredients, cause they are present in such small amount. I dont even know what am i putting into my mouth!

Chinatown may have many delicious chinese foods along the street, but I usually will prefer to go to this simple chinese restaurant as there is air-conditioned environment here and the service here is also quite alright. Bought their fried noodles and was quite happy with the generous portion served to me. Noodles is chewy but was abit too oily. Fortunately the seasoning in it is quite alright and the general amount of vegetables in it make it really crunchy during every mouthful of it.

Went to their outlet at newly renovated 133 New Bridge Road, Chinatown Point, #02-34.

Had their set meals at $7.80++ which include a main course and selected drink. Plus additional side dishes at $2 each.

Lotus Leaf Chicken Chop Fried Rice: When they serve up his fried rice, the first thing that hits your sense is the aromatic smell of chicken chop. Damn nice. Comes with a soup too. But my guy doesn't like the taste of their soup and so never finish up that bowl in the end. But for the chicken chop, I try a small bits. The meat is surrounded by fats and end up, it is like once you bite, the fats is oozing out instead of the real taste of that chicken meat. That's all I can say. But the crispiness on the outside remains. The fried rice is savoury. Can I say it is like Yang Chow Fried Rice?

XO Fried Noodles: Actually is a Seafood fried noodles. There is sotong and prawns, along with onions, red and green peppers. It is confirmed tasty which comes with a little saltiness and greasy too though, still bearable.

Side dishes - Crispy Silver fish and String bean with pork: This silver fish looks so appealing to me and it tastes yum yum. It is like a snack which once you started, you can't stop. It also tastes a little crunchy. Nom nom... I love it. The oiliness is bearable. I wonder if they sprinkle some paprika on top. The other side I will recommend is this Stringbean with pork. Okay from here you can only see the beans and no pork. I never realise till I see my order slip and as I eat further, the pathetic bits of pork can be seen inside. Minced pork and very little. But I concentrated only on their beans. It tastes crunchy and savoury and bearable level of oiliness.

Overall, if you are looking for budget meal please have this in your list. There are other choices in their menu which you can order ala carte instead of their set meal which limits to three choices for each category (main course, drinks and side dishes).
