See pictures @ http://thehungrybunnie.blogspot.sg/2016/04/hoshino-coffee-capitol-piazza.htmlHoshino Coffee's casual vibe, trendy fare and wallet-friendly price points have made it a hit among the teenybopper set and the broke-by-the-end-of-the-month types.I suggest getting the eggy souffle baked rice and although the menu alleges this as "rissoto", it is really a term used loosely, and more regular Japanese rice than Italian risotto:1) Omu Souffle ($16.80): tomato rice casserole dotted with broccoli and shrimp.2) Fuwa-Fuwa Hoshino Souffle ($15.80): with mushrooms and ham bits3) Matcha Souffle ($10.80): semi-collapsed by the time it got to our table. This was disappointing, and I much rather spent a few dollars more and get the fabulous ones at Laurent Bernard.4) Ice Matcha Latte with Softee ($9.30): rich and robust. Much better than the souffle as a sweet finisher continue reading

More reviews at www.umakemehungry.comWhile walking along the shop front of Hoshino Coffee, the mock up Western-Japanese fusion dishes capture my attention with its yummy looking appearance and literally make me drools at the sight. They not only drew our attention but drew us closer to take a look at them.Theme with dark brown and black furnishing, the entire place looked grand and English, not any like the usual hipster cafe.Decorations of the Japanese Lamps were seen hanging from the ceiling.Being an odd one out of the group of friends, I had ordered the Ice Fruit Teas while the rest were waiting for their caffeine fix. Ice Fruit Tea was served in a decanter whereby the black tea is infused with assorted fruits like apple, orange, blueberries and even preserved plum. It had also gave me a good idea to start my own kind of infused mix fruit tea.Hoshino Coffee is strongly advocate for. The cold coffee was served in elegant metal cup with milk and syrup placed separately. The after taste of the black coffee was not too bitter and does not have the sour taste. It's a pity that when we were ordering, the grinding machine was out of order and we could not have a taste of their famous hot hand drip coffee. We had the Pie Pizza which falls under the Capitol Specials. There was a strong wave of cheesy aroma the moment the plate was placed on the table. Pizza crust was crispy with thin layers like croissant texture, unlike the usual doughy pizza we had. Potatoes wedges with tomato soup dip and salad are part of the dish too.Tonkatsu Curry Rice may be a very common dish in any Japanese restaurant but Hoshino's Coffee has this dish done up well. The curry was mild with a big weighty piece Tonkatsu was delicious, accompanied by shredded cabbages by the side. Tonkatsu was perfectly done up and fried to its golden brown perfection, crispy battered at its exterior yet retaining its succulency. If you knows about "fuwa-fuwa" in Japanese, you would have knew that the souffle is actually fluffy as describe in its description. The "cloud" was amazing soft with tomato baked rice beneath when you reveal the Souffle layer. Baked rice packed of buttery fragrance and was delicious with ingredients like mushrooms and ham.Another must try will be its Omu Souffle with Tomato Rissoto.Hoshino Spaghetti with eggplant, bacon, shimeji & sausage is another recommendation. Look at the runny egg on the centre, that's how temptations starts! Added with roasted sesame seeds to enhanced the taste on the "cooked to perfect texture"spaghetti just gave another reason not to have this dish skipped.Pasta were cooked to Al Dente Perfection with ingredients like mushrooms, prawns, seaweed, fish flakes and a scoop of Mentaiko .The texture of spaghetti was near to perfection, still holding its firmness yet not being to hard. A good mixture of pasta in cream base sauce with mushrooms, seaweed grilled and cooked salmon, enjoying two different cooking style of a salmon being served. Here's a close up of the charred lines for the grilled salmon with wasabi. There services was more misses than hits. The service team was rather new with a handful of trainees and service could have been better if food availability is enough over a weekend. For a place where coffee is strongly advocate for, we was initially told that the coffee machine was spoiled thus we could not order their dripping coffee and took the Iced Coffee as an alternative. To make things worse, only 3 cups of iced coffee was served when we had ordered 5. There then with further probing, we was then told that Ice Coffee was sold out too. *Shrugs* continue reading

Another Japanese cafe chain has sprouted in various spots in sunny Singapore - yes, I have seen photos and posts on social media feeds from friends. To be frank, I'd never been keen until this elegantly-decorated outlet opened up at Capitol Piazza. It was all about dark polished wood, crystal chandeliers and initimate colours giving this place a beautiful and almost enchanting setting. I just knew I had to come here for a meal sometime. And what I want, I usually get - so I got Hoshino Coffee one evening finally, with two nice clients. The Lobster Bisque Spaghetti (SGD$16.00) won my internal debate - was oscillating between this and the omelet rice. The broth was rather rich with flavour and in texture; the dish infused with scallops and prawns, while the pasta was quite springy. It did not give the "wow" factor, but was satisfying enough. As for the Chocolate Fondant with Softee (SGD$9.80) was .... well, if you eat it as a chocolate sponge cake, it is decadent and rich in flavour. Even the touch of Softee vanilla ice-cream was rather inviting. But if you were expecting a luscious chocolate lava cascading out of the core onto the stark white plate - it'd be a letdown. For full review and more detailed information, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2015/11/tea-time-at-hoshino-coffee-capitol.html  continue reading

The hand drip coffee is never disappointing.  Right temperature and full bodied coffee. If the softee on the hot cakes are cooler it would be good because it could give more contrasting feeling in your mouth.  What I like is that they are not overly sweet and I really like the choice of syrup.  As this outlet is still new we don't need to queue as its Plaza Singapura outlet. continue reading
