This time visited Hoshino Coffee at Plaza. I like the surrounding decoration have always unique for his fusion style. Order their lunch deal and also their best spaghetti. Always I’m not in favour for spaghetti but would be their signature Hoshino Spaghetti. The spaghetti is 100% perfection, serve with garlic soy style sauce, it not too oily. The spaghetti is 100% perfection, serve with garlic soy style sauce, it not too oily. Toppling with the spinach, sesame, tomato, mushroom, half cooked egg on top it. I surely love it with sesame seeds too.

With their signature Hoshino blend black coffee with ice lemon.
It was a good combination and finish up in no time.

High recommendation for spaghetti lover.

Now that is supposedly Spring in Japan, even though my Japanese friends told me it snowed last week and it's currently 6 degrees celsius in Tokyo, the Spring menu for Hoshino coffee includes this super pretty pink  strawberry soufflé pancake!

So after the waitress took our 7 orders of soufflés, all the 4 pancakes arrived at all table all at once! The strawberry ice cream was very smooth, it wasn't too sweet but the syrup they provided us was very sweet indeed!

Use it sparingly over the soufflé, as it can drown out your taste buds and we had 6 more soufflés to try and we didn't want to kill our taste buds. The soufflé itself is alot harder than the normally fluffly soufflé. As it is a pancake, I would consider it more like a fluffier and slightly tougher version of a chiffon cake.

Lots of chocolate sauce going on here. When you order a pancake soufflé, you have an option of whipped cream of softee. We went with softee for all our pancake soufflés and we liked the softee. Japanese soft serves, you can never go wrong with them! The pancake soufflé don't have any fillings inside, unlike the hot vanilla soufflés.

We decided to go easy on the syrup for this one, having tried the first Spring soufflé with syrup and the second one with alot of chocolate sauce. The softee itself isn't very sweet, as such you can taste the subtle sweetness of the soufflé pancake!

The most modest of the pancake soufflés, and my personal favourite. The matcha soft cream here tastes very similar to the one I tried at Tsujiri, it has a stronger bitter after taste than the typical sweet and sugar-ladden matcha ice cream. The bean paste is also very sweet, as such, be careful not to get a sugar-overdose trying to eat that on it's own!

You gotta pour the sauces into the soufflé and the soufflé was steaming hot as we sliced it open, and even as we dug in, each spoonful, you could still see it steaming!! It is a very hot dessert, and be careful not to burn your tongue!

Of the 3 sauces, my favourite was custard. It had the right amount of sweetness! The chocolate was abit too sweet for my liking and the green tea wasn't sweet at all!

Being green tea lovers, we ordered the Hot Matcha Latte ($9). I feel it is quite overpriced for this small cup of matcha latte which I can finish in a few sips. But it is really nice, thick and powdery, and I could feel the real matcha taste in it, warm and satisfying! I love it!

I had the Fuwa Fuwa Hoshino Souffle ($15.80). True to its name, it is soft and fluffy, and beneath the fluffy souffle is hot and pipping delectable rice with mushrooms, pork and beef. The waiter told us that all their rice dishes contains beef, if you strictly cannot take beef, avoid the rice and go for the pastas. I don't usually take beef coz I dont like it, but as I wanted to try this Fuwa Fuwa Souffle, I went ahead to order. Anyway, it wasnt too bad, and just a few pieces of beef isnt too beefy either, so it is acceptable. I like the rice, its warm and tasty, real comfort food to me.

My friend had the Lobster Bisque Spaghetti ($16), and it was a very large serving. I tried a bit and it was quite nice, strong lobster taste of the soup and spaghetti. My friend like it and finished every bit of it! We were quite full from our mains, so we had to skip dessert.

As we have not met up for many years and had a lot to chat, we were there from 6pm till about 930pm. I was afraid that they would chase us after we finish our meal, coz we could see queues forming at 7pm. But to our delight, they did not chase us and allow us to sit and chat even after we finish our meal, but well, we still had our drinks with us. Service was quite good too, and they were very diligent in refilling our iced water! So we had quite a pleasant experience on our first visit to Hoshino. The things here are quite pricey especially their drinks and desserts, so I may think twice about coming back again.

I had a lobster bisque spaghetti $16 and was surprised by its portion which was larger than average. The prawns were not of the freshest quality but they were not small. There were 3 prawns and the spaghetti was soaked in the lobster bisque. The lobster bisque taste was strong and there were some mini tofu cubes too. It may be too overwhelming for one person to finish it all.

Lobster Bisque Soup Spaghetti ($16.00). Of course, no lack of lobster taste, but I don't quite like it..

"Hoshino" Pot-Baked Curry Rice ($15.00). A simple dish, with curry over rice, broccoli, beef and sausage. Mixed it up with a near-raw egg, turned into a mushy bowl of crurry rice!

Matcha Softee ($5.80). This cone of ice-cream came free-of-charge if you are using Standard Chartered card for payment.

Pot-Baked Vanilla Souffle ($9.80). I really love this!!! Inside is like a perfect egg-tart custard, which is soft and fluffy! The sweetness of the custard is just awesome!

But for non-beef eaters, you are only limited to their spaghetti section...

The cafe has a polished european style decor with refined looking leather sofas, antique style chandeliers and copper/brass colored lamp shades, coupled with dark wood tables and flooring. A subtle hint of Japanese influence coming from a handful of zen style lanterns hanging from the ceiling. There is a magazine corner with a comprehensive lineup of Japanese lifestyle reads at the patron's disposal.

Rich roasted Hoshino blended coffee with full bodied flavor and a pleasant sourness, served in a specially designed 'Copper high thermal conductivity' cup to retain the icy temperature longer than normal cups. I really love the attention that the Japanese gave to subtle details like this...their mission is to serve us great coffee, not just nice coffee!

Hoshino Spaghetti $14++, prepared in aglio olio style with savory bacon, sausages, shimeiji mushroom and fresh veggies, topped with a perfectly poached egg and sprinkled with roasted sesame seeds. They were generous with the ingredients and the pasta was perfectly al dente, faultless.

Souffle pancake with chocolate banana $13.50++, choice of softee or whip cream as topping. The pancake is light as air and very fluffy. I had it with the vanilla softee, sliced bananas and Hershey kisses...can't go wrong with this combi. A word of caution though, the pancake itself is already sweet enough, do not pour the supplied maple syrup unless you have extreme sweet tooth!

Overall dining experience here was pleasant, waiting staffs were trained to be attentive and responsive. Ice water was constantly being topped up and dishes were cleared in a speedy manner. Food quality is definitely superb with reasonable price points to boot. The souffle pancakes are not to be missed for fans of Japanese desserts!

Having heard how good it looks and tastes, I decided to go for the Fuwa-Fuwa Hoshino Souffle ($15.80). “Fuwa-Fuwa” is the Japanese term for fluffy, and it surely held true to it’s name. The eggs in the souffle was just so soft and fluffy and it was just marvellous. It just felt as if you were eating marshmallows with that eggy flavour that is trademark with souffles. While the top was light in flavour and fluffy, the rice beneath had a stronger flavour as it was cooked with tomato sauce, and traces of ham can be found inside it as well. A dish that I would recommend to order here.

Hoshino Pot Baked Curry Rice ($15.00) was above average but not really wonderful. It was pretty much of a typical Japanese Curry cooked with rice, and came with a nice and very flowy egg, but with two broccoli stalks and two sausages. The serving size just seemed a little small to be filling; probably more ingredients would have done the trick.

It is the first time I see Homemade Fresh Banana Milk ($6.00) on a menu. So I decide to order one. The drink takes quite a while to be served. It tastes quite thick and faint with banana taste. There is no need for additional of sugar. I would prefer more banana in the drink, but still tastes quite good.

French Toast ($9.80) takes more than the expected time to be served. You are expected to wait at least 15 minutes for this dish. The toast is quite sweet and soft. The white scoop on top turns out to be whipped cream. Quite tasty with the melting whipped cream.

Lastly we have Pancake Souffle Style with Mango ($13.50) which takes the longest to arrive. We are a bit disappointed as the table behind us is served the dish the same time as us , although they come in later than us. The pancake tastes like a rather dry thick cake. I would prefer a more buttery taste. The mango tastes a bit sourness to me. Overall I am quite disappointed in this dish.

Total the simple meal costs $41.31. Overall the food tastes not bad, but it takes quite awhile to be served. We also have a hard time getting the staff to refill iced water for us.

Ordered the Lobster Bisque Soup Spaghetti, Fuwa-fuwa Hoshino Souffle ($15.80) and the Hoshino Pot Baked Curry Rice. Out of these three, I find only the spaghetti satisfied me. I would highly recommend against the baked curry rice as it was really not worthwhile for this ordinary dish consisting of rice, two half hotdogs and an egg. The curry was alright. I could not fathom why on earth this could be one of the restaurant's recommended dish.

The spaghetti was my only consolation. The sauce was rich not too gelat, but I could not really discern out much lobster flavour. On the other hand, the Hoshino souffle was special with the fluffy crust on top. I liked it initially but was disappointed after that of the content of the baked rice beneath. There were too much froth in fact while the portion of baked rice beneath was small with bits and pieces of pathetic ham and mushroom.

I would not want to return to the place anymore. Food is actually really commonplace and too pricey indeed
