I have ordered their fried chicken wings which cost $2.90 for 2 pieces.  The chicken wings are only deep fried upon order so you will be sure to be served with really fresh and hot chicken wings which are juicy and tender.  Moreover the outer layer is very crispy and not too oily as well.  Without dipping any sauce, it tastes great!

As for the fries, they are cut straight from the potato so is really firm in texture and flavourful.  It is not too salty and slight crunchiness can be obtained when you munch it.   Yummy snacks!

I love the hao da da ji pa ever since i tried in it taiwan. In singapore it is slightly more expensive.I ordered a set meal which consists of iced tea, fries ( but i requested to change to sweet potato with an additional charges of 30cents) and the original flavor of hao da da ji pa. I paid $7.30 and i find it rather expensive for the portion. The ji pa is really huge and nice. the chilli powder makes it taste even better. the skin is very crispy and meat is tender. however upon finishing there i

The ji pa is really huge and nice. the chilli powder makes it taste even better. the skin is very crispy and meat is tender. however upon finishing there is alot of bones at the bottom which makes it difficult to eat. Also they do not provide cutting service. The portion of the sweet potato is really little . Taste wise it is good though. iced tea is average.

In future i might just buy the ji pa as ale carte as its not really worth while to pay more for that little amount of sweet potato.

There are a few other fried chicken cutlet shops around Singapore, such as Hot-Star. The chicken cutlets costs around $4.50, which is the same price as Shilin's XXL Chicken at certain outlets. One of the most noticeable difference is that the chicken is not cut up like at Shilin's. The other thing is that there is some bone in the chicken meat as well.At least there are 7 different flavours for you to choose from! I had the Lemon BBQ flavour which is actually the original Hot-Star fried chicken

At least there are 7 different flavours for you to choose from! I had the Lemon BBQ flavour which is actually the original Hot-Star fried chicken with sauce and sesame seeds. The BBQ smell is quite strong. The chicken is crispy and crunchy.

Hot Star is another popular Taiwanese fried chicken stall, similar to Shilin. My favourite flavour is sour plum and I will always choose that on my chicken, fries etc. This time, I decided to go for the garlic flavour and it is not bad! The fried chicken here is priced higher than Shilin but it is justifiable as Hot Star's fried chicken is larger in size! It is fried on the spot and always piping hot when I get it. I advise you to let it cool down for awhile before savouring it as I almost burn

This food stall sell my favourite chicken curry cutlet. At the price of $4.50 per big piece, is consider cheap and very filling. The stall is small and clean. Staffs here are friendly. The chicken meat is very juicy and tender. This big piece meat is super chewy and full of the curry powder fragrant. This meat also may likely have chicken bone in between the meat, so do be careful when you munch it.

Passed by this Hot Star outlet and was attracted by the super fragrant chicken meat smell from here. Decide to try it and but the curry flavour as I love to eat spicy flavour. Less than ten minutes my curry chicken was ready for my collection over at the counter. At the price of $4.50 per big piece, this is very value for money. DO NOTE: no cutting service will be provided here as whole big piece will be served to everyone who bought this. Chicken meat is very fresh and juicy. The outer cru

It's very crispy when i bite into it, very tasty with lemon sauce

Bad thing of this is the bones and that it's not cut.
When i asked the staff they say they don't cut it!
Otherwise this is great and really big as heard

I am looking at the menu, not knowing what to order when I spot the promotion poster. Currently there is a new black pepper flavour chicken cutlet. For $4.70, the chicken cutlet comes with a choice of peach tea or lemonade. The chicken cutlet is quite big piece as it has been flatten to quite thin. The batter covering the chicken is not too thick and is quite crispy. The black pepper sauce is brushed on top of the chicken, and sprinkled with chopped spring onion. Hot Star Large Fried Chicken originated from Taiwan, and opened with alot of fanfare in Singapore last year. Before the first store even opened, I've already heard rumours raving about the XXXL size of the chicken cutlet and how it was really authentic, so tasty AND value for money at the same time. I have not tried this when I was in Taiwan, which was a regret. As the rumours sounded too good to be true, it got me quite excited to give it a try, so I, too, dived right into the fanfare and queued

This is the store at Tampines 1. The ordering to collection process was rather systematic. Basically it was queueing, ordering, paying, then we were given a queue number to wait. When our orders were ready, our queue number would be flashed on the screen.

Fried chicken cutlet with plum flavour

Size and Price:

The chicken cutlets were really quite huge. I purchased 2 and shared it amongst 4 people.
However, there were also large pieces of chicken bones fried together with the cutlet. For about $4.50 a piece, I would say the portion is comparable to Shihlin's $3.50 fried chicken cutlet. Basically you pay a little more, you get little more, so it's nothing really unique.

Quality:

All orders were served fresh and piping hot, because the chicken is only fried after you order. The skin was crispy and good. However I found the meat to be slightly dry and tough. The cut of the meat was chicken breast meat.

Taste:

The flavours and seasoning really does affect the overall taste of the chicken cutlet by alot! So personally I guess I still prefer to go with the original taste. My friends and I didn't really enjoy the seaweed and plum flavoured chicken because we thought the flavours didn't go so well together.

My girlfriend was craving for fried mushroom so we walked over to hot star and ordered from them. Their packet of fried mushroom is pretty huge and it cost $2.80. however I felt their mushroom could taste better. Their mushroom was a little dry, I think they did not soak the mushroom long enough for it to be juicy. if I were to compare with ke kou wei’s fried mushroom, I would prefer their as it was more juicy.

So glad to come across a Hot Star Chicken at Tampines 1. The last I had it was at the City Square mall branch. This time round I ordered their seaweed flavor chicken. I think this combination is really good. As usual their chicken is really huge, but there are some parts with bones towards the end of the piece. The meat is very tender and juicy. the outer coating is very crispy. It was such a pleasure eating it, very satisfying. Brings back memory from Taiwan.
