kimchi seafood hot pot $15.90this tasted rather ordinary. the kimchi taste was not rich enough. the seafood ingredients in it were not a lot too. I changed my bowl of white rice to the seaweed rice with an additional topup. the rice was surprisingly yummy and flavourful. I could just eat it alone like that. It was not served hot though. bibimbap. We ordered the one with the crispy silver fish and the fish was really crispy! It was also quite filling for one person because of the rice below. This will be enough to satisfy your bibimbap cravings even though it was not exceptionally good.Service was average. continue reading

Business was brisk at this restaurant on a Friday night. Almost all the tables were occupied and the staff were visibly busy. I was a party of 5 and only got my table after about a 15-min wait. I ordered the Mandu Hotpot ($10.90 before GST). I think Mandu is korean for dumpling. The mandu here contains seafood filling instead of pork. It was very soft and mushy inside. You can choose between miso soup base or kimchi base. I opted for the kimchi soup base as can be seen from the picture. The hotpot consisted of tanghoon, cabbage, golden mushrooms and spring onions. I like the mandu but felt that the soup turned a little starchy after a while (probably due to the tang hoon). This set also comes with a bowl of rice and soup. continue reading

IMM is a huge mall which I often go to whenever I'm in the area. They sell almost everything here from groceries, furniture and there's Daiso as well.We ordered the Bibimbap, miscellaneous fried stuff, seafood vermicelli and kimchi ramen. There are limited seats in this small restaurant. Although the staff are attentive, they are a bit slow in serving. The Bibimbap was alright compared to most what I've eaten. The fried stuff (chicken etc) was a bit overcooked and has little flavour. Kimchi Ramen was also average. Seafood vermicelli was nice as the prawns and mussels were fresh while the noodle is smooth. continue reading

I have tried the Seoul Garden Hotpot at IMM. You can either chose the miso soup base or the Kimchi and I have chosen the Kimchi soup base. The kimchi doesn’t taste like the usual kimchi from outside. It has more of the sweet taste rather than the sourness. However, the sauce base is rather thick. As for the ingredients in the soup, it is rather bland and it has limited variety. The dumpling is not very yummy and the fillings are little. To me, it is not worthwhile to dine in there. The hotpot costs $15.90 before GST. continue reading
