A brief introduction: the dishes are Singaporean and China-based, with Sichuan pickled vegetables and also carrot cake. There is rice, mantous and porridge for your taking to reach your carbohydrates intake. On the other side, there is green bean soup and orange slices for dessert. They also serve homemade barley too.

The usual porridge condiments like preserved vegetables, salted eggs, ikan bilis with peanuts, braised pork belly and beancurd are available too.

Observing that most of the service staff had a strong China accent, I would think that the Singaporean dishes might end up like the "Singapore corner" in most overseas hotel buffets. I was pleasantly surprised that the carrot cake, char kway teow, beehoon, and the fried rice were wonderfully done up, albeit a little strong on the flavours. On the other hand, there were some filler dishes that seemed rather skimpy on effort such as the spicy chicken sausage and spicy tofu which tasted suspiciously similar in terms of its sauce.

The supposed star of the buffet - the porridge - was miserably rice belatedly mixed with water, and was tasteless at best. While I kind of liked their rendition of sweet green bean soup with rice, Ave didn't think well of it. It's strange but in a good way. The homemade barley is passable though not spectacular.
Overall, HotPot Culture has rather attentive service and a relatively peaceful environment even during the lunch crowd. Don't expect too much for the food quality, though it does makes for a filling and extremely value-for-money lunch.

Finally a day to meet up with friends , went to marina square .
went for steamboat buffet there about 24 selection to choose from
but before that we have to choose the soup base . there 7 different kinds of soup base to choose from

Chicken Soup
Hot & Spicy Soup
Fish Soup
Kim chi Soup
Vegetarian Soup
Herbal Soup
Ma La Soup

the great thing also it is a big variety of selection to choose from and we can choose what soup base we want and it is individual selection.

anyway the steamboat buffet cost like about $18.80 but after GST and plus plus charges each of us pay around $21 dollars.

the best thing i like is individual steamboat set , we can put whatever we want and we do not have to share with each another. hence if everyone of us ordered the different soup base we can try each other ones.

for more details you can go to : http://www.hotpotculture.com/

as on that day i prefer to have some light meal therefore i ordered herbal soup and with Mi Fen and vegetable ;)

Taking Tom Yum soup, I want to tantalize my taste buds for instant. Food was fine, mostly of them were fresh meat and veggies. Self-service basis, eat all we can, drink was free-flow. Ala-carte menu was available also, we prefer buffet version. For adult was $20.80 as we visited on weekend, the price subjected to GST and service charge. Heart-warming meal, we were satisfied and full after that.

First visit to HotPot Culture was to try their steamboat buffet with each own individual hotpot. Now we are back again to try out their porridge buffet. It was wide buffet spread that come with curry chicken , fried carrot cakes, fried eggs, braised eggs etc. They also have some other sauces for you to go along with dishes. We like the curry chicken it was spicy , and the meat is tender, the carrot cake is not too oily and soft.

One thing I love about hotpot culture is that every person has their own individual hotpot. I like it because this way, you can choose to put whatever you want inside the hotpot. One of my favourite side dishes that comes with the hot pot is the sweet and sour pork.It may not look appetizing here but it is in fact really delicious. The skin is crispy and drenched in delicious sauce. Around $30 for a buffet dinner

Walking past the restaurant on a Friday evening and decided to pop in to try their Hotpot Buffet (Mini Steamboat). The place was quite packed and tables were rather squeezy. Still, we were seated promptly, and the waitress came to take our orders fast too.
We tried the Hotpot buffet (without ala carte cooked food). The soup comes in a small metal pot above a burner (disposable fuel) used. We decided to try the soups recommended in the menu - the herbal chicken ( clear but bland), and the Hot and Spicy ( much tastier). Unfortunately, my burner (chicken soup) took significantly longer than the hot and spicy soup to boil, even without any food in it. In the end, I kinda gave up
and decided to chuck everything into the hot and spicy soup!
There are a few steamboat items you can order from the menu - we tried the beef/pork slices, mushrooms, crab claw and fish "glue". All were pretty ordinary except the fish glue - interesting thin layer of sticky fish paste that is you scrape in to the soup. When cooked, it is sweet, and not too soft. There is also a chiller to get the rest of the buffet items - rice/nooddles, frozen fish slices, some veggies, eggs and well... alot of meatballs!
There was chicken ball, mushroom chicken pall, prawn ball, sotong and fish ball.. As with all steamboats though, the most important part of the meal is the sauce! Sadly though, there was only 1 type of chilli sauce available, although there is garlic/ spring onion etc that you can add to suit your taste, some variety in sauces (including non-spicy options?) would have made a huge difference in the meal... the food all started to taste the same after a while!

Iced lemon tea is provided, free-flow and the service staff were quite prompt in taking orders and re-filling soups. 2 types of fruits that day - sliced oranges and cubed honey-dew melon (both types not too sweet
).. and very small cubes of dry banana bread/cake ( like 1cm by 1cm!) to pass as dessert. Not great.
All in all, the food was edible but not great. Cost ~ $30/pax after GST (Fri and weekend dinners).

There is 5types of soup for us to choose chicken, herbal, ma la, fish and hot n spicy soup base. I choose the chicken soup and my friends choose herbal, ma la, and hot n spicy soup base.

For the chicken soup, it smell nice but it taste alittle blend but after adding the ingredients in it taste just right

For the herbal soup, it worth drinking because its does not taste blend and you can really see the herbal ingredients in the soup.

For the ma la soup, its really very spicy till my friend ask the staff to add some chicken soup for her. So friends out there who likes to eat very spicy food can order the ma la soup

For the hot n spicy soup, it taste more like tom yam with a like hot and a little sour. but my friend enjoy the soup base because the soup is not too spicy non too sour taste just right

There is quite a number of food for us to choose from the ala-carte menu and the type of sauce you want it to be cooked in. Example: black pepper, sambal etc. some items that is not found @ the DIY food corner can be found in the menu like prawns and golden mushrooms can only find in the menu.

As you can see from the photo we ordered a whole table of food. One of our favorite is sambal sotong! its chewy and fresh but it would be better if its spicy alittle

Visited the Marina Square of Hotpot Culture with my friend. We ordered the Chicken Soup. It was tasteless. One cannot forget the chocolate fondue. I pretty like that fact that it uses dark chocolate and together with the sweet marshmellows, bananas and strawberry, it gives one a pretty bitter yet sweet feelings. Overall, its a pretty decent place to get lots of food.

MINUE point is I feel that ala cart plus steamboat choice should include free flow drinks too and the steamboat item choices is too little. I will rate it worth visiting and will definately pop by again as I really feel the ala cart food was nice and the chocolate fondue
thumbs up!

the dessert was quite nice too. it is quite value for money.
