Kueh Muah Chee
Review (5)
There is a lot of hype around this muah chee stall with many claims that it is fantastic but honestly in my opinion it was quite average. The muah chee is very expensive comparatively, 3.50 for a medium portion which only comes with a few pieces. The special thing though it that there is a black version which I prefer. The muah chee is pretty chewy and soft but i did not find it very outstanding. continue reading

The muah chee here is pretty artisanal being freshly made to order and made with a special method of pulling the dough. Each piece is coated in sesame oil before being rolled in peanut mixture. The muah chee is chewy and sugery with good peanut flavour and strong shallot taste too. However it is pretty pricey at $3.50 for a "medium" portion, so it's quite expensive. continue reading

When we reached, there was 2 person in front ordering. The couple worked together and both of them are quite friendly. It is true that he uses hand to pull the dough from the big lump and dipped into the oil before throwing it into the peanut mixture. His hands were fast in pulling and look at all those bite size muah chee! It tempted me even more to put those in mymouth right away! My friend and I shared a box of $5 muah chee. It was really chewy and it makes a rather good snack when you feel like chewing something. continue reading

Before I start with my review, one important to note is that this stall has since March 2012 moved to Bedok South Blk 69, #01-468. Had this a couple of times when it was at its previous location in Hougang and in its present location in Bedok South. The muah chee is no doubt pretty good, but it is overrated. Yes I know it is one of the very very few hand made muah chee left in Singapore, but seriously, hand made and machine made... hmm i cant really tell the difference. Either way, I love my muah chee! Oh one thing special about the muah chee is that besides the orginal flavour that you see in this photo, it comes with a black seseame flavour too. The other thing to note is that this muah chee is not cheap. Pretty expensive compared to the ones you wld find in the pasar malam. continue reading

I decided to get a packet of muah chee from this stall after passing by it so many times. I bought the small packet which costs me only $2.. However, I find that their muah chee is just very ordinary. Although their muah chee is very soft and they are well coated with a layer of peanut and sugar mix, the size of each muah chee is actually very small. They are very chewly but to me it is the same as any other muah chee. Still a good choice if yu just want some snacks though. continue reading
