Food stalls selling Fried Meehoon can be found almost everywhere in main hawker centres or markets, affordable and quick. Often, they will offer Meehoon, Yellow Noodles, Kway Teow or Nasi Lemak. Sides would be ranged from Fried stuffs, Eggs, Tofu, Veggies and Curry. Prepared to queue if you come to Hup Lee stall, their business was good. This dish was always served as a delightful breakfast for me, a very common local meal. I decided to stick to my original version, opted for Fried Meehoon with Fried Chicken with Seaweed, Lunchie Meat and Wholly-fried Egg. Certainly hearty and satisfying, Meehoon was springy with just right portion. Sambal was nicely-blended, sweetly spicy to score extra marks for my Meehoon. Price at $2.50, it was a decent way to have my fuss-free and economy breakfast. continue reading

I bought a packet of the beehoon with the yellow noodle as takeaway since the hawker centre is quite hot and I didn’t want to eat my meal there. The beehoon is a fresh batch so it taste exceptionally nice and warm. The fish fillet which I added on to my beehoon is also delicious with a crispy exterior. The exterior batter is not too much which allows me to have more of the fish fillet. I must also mention their chilli. It is really quite spicy and hence absolutely delicious with the noodles. continue reading

It was a sunday morning, my father in law asked us whether can send him to bedok reservoir for his dental appointment. We replied okie and drove straight to his dental clinic at bedok reservior blk 632. When we reached there, it was 10am. My father in law told us to go have breakfast without him. My wife and i decided to go to the hawker near the market at blk 630. My wife and I ordered ourself a glass of soya bean drink and a bowl of soya beancurd to share. Beside the this, i also ordered fried mee hoon with mix kway teow with egg and fried chicken wing. My wife ordered herself a plate of carrot cake. Overall the the fried mee hoon taste good and not very expensive as well. continue reading
