I seldom venture to this side of Singapore but as I was visiting my friend, i decided to pop by Ichiban Sushi to satisfy my craving for Japanese food at wallet friendly prices. My friend and I ordered sushi and they were very fresh and well presented. You would be happier seeing food that looks good aesthetically since it seems to give off the feel that it is properly prepared too right? The seafood tastes super fresh and one of my favourites is the one that has been slightly grilled on top. We also ordered dessert which Ichiban Sushi boosts to be hand-baked! Cold chilled dessert, best way to end the meal on. continue reading

Hougang Mall's outlet is still my favourite outlet to go to with the great service provided by their servers! Ordered a premium set meal which came with a teriyaki chicken rice bowl + steamboat + salmon sashimi! You can also spot the 4 pcs of salmon avocado sushi which we added on. This is still my favourite set to order with the amount of items provided for less than 20 bucks!Salmon avocado is my most recommended item and you got to try it out to find out why!We also ordered a garlic rice to share cause I have always been curious about its taste. Loaded with preserved vegetables and salmon, the food is kept warm with the hot stone bowl it was kept in. Definitely a choice for me when I am looking for something healthy! If you are a OCBC MEMBER, there is an ongoing promotion now! So do check it out of you are looking for a dining location! continue reading

Recently I have been eating Japanese food, I don't really want to eat Ichiban Sushi but was meeting friends for a chat so thought of finding a quiet restaurant to chat while having dinner. We went during a weekday dinner and the queue was super long, we waited for at least 20mins. I had some sushi and my favourite salmon skin. The salmon avacodo temaki was nice but I didn't know that salmon was raw I had the black pepper chicken meal which tasted normal. The tofu was tasty. Their portion was quite big so we feel very full at the end of it. continue reading

Lunch at Ichiban today and we ordered my favourite salmon sashimi at $9.50 for 7pcs. The salmon is quite fresh and thick.Apart from only eating sashimi, I ordered the Ishiyaki Saba Rice - $12.90, it is garlic rice served with grilled mackerel in hot stone. Vegetable salad and miso soup were served together with this Ishiyaki Saba Rice. The garlic rice is very fragrant and because it is served in hot stone bowl, the heat from the hot stone bowl cook the rice further till it is crispy and enhance the fragrance of the rice. The Mackerel is fresh and sweet.Hubby had Unagi Yanagawa, it is not overcooked and the eel is still soft and tender. The scrambled egg is nice as it absorb the sauce of the unagi. continue reading

The FoodHave been a japanese food fan but this is my first time heading to Ichiban Sushi for lunch. I decided to order their ala carte sushi plate this time and it was quite good. The unagi was fresh. Apart from this, I ordered other sushi from the ala carte menu as well. For instance, salmon sushi, soft shell crab. All of them were not bad I must say.The Price/b]Quite expensive but there are many set meals available for you to choose from too. I may try them the next time I visit them!! continue reading
