Pass by this bakery shop and was really attracted by the wide range of buns and cakes available here and decided to check it out. Was already having the intention to have ham and cheese sandwiches for my breakfast, so have bought their white toast bread. At $2.60 per loaf, is consider cheap and value for money. The bread texture is very soft and with slightly moist in it. The outer bread crust was toasted till really fragrant and not too hard as well. The shop is veryclean and neat. Was about to take a photo of this shop but the service staffs immediately stopped me as she said photo taking is not allow. Fortunately she is still quite polite when she told me that. continue reading

Imperial treasure and crystal jade are probably neck in neck for most of their dim sum items, however one area that imperial wins hands down is te egg tarts. These egg tarts are big in size, and are very delicious. They are wobbly and smooth and contrasts with the crunchy and sweet pastry that holds the soft custard The fragile tarts break upon the slightest pressure so be careful! They cost 1.30 each! continue reading

Imperial treasure has the best egg tarts in Singapore the pastry itself is so crisp and crunchy with great flavour. It's unlike regular egg tarts with flaky pastry. Instead the pastry is like a sweet crust dough tasting almost like a yummy biscuit. The custard is just sweet enough not too sweet but sweet enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. The eggy flavour goes perfectly with the delicate crust. It's best when it's freshly made just out of the afternoon but is good when cold too! continue reading

This bun is filled with lots of moist and fragrant chicken floss at the side of it which are very tasty and sweet in flavour as well. The bun is very moist and soft in texture, which is really thick in texture too. The combination of the chicken floss and bun are simply delicious and the price is also quite reasonable as well. Usually I will buy back at least a dozen pieces to share with my fellow colleagues in the office during tea break hours. continue reading

The egg tarts by Imperial Treasure Bakery is really quite large, about my palm size. One thing I find weird is that the egg tart is supported with a black coloured tart paper, instead of the aluminium tart support, because given its size and that the crust is actually quite fragile, the paper could not support the tart at all.Anyway on to the taste of the egg tart. I must say I am very impressed with the egg tart. The egg custard is quite wobbly and creamy and it is not very artifically sweet. I love this type of egg custards. In addition, the crust is buttery and simple melts-in-your-mouth when you bite into it. The crust is not too sweet either, so on the whole it is very balanced and eating one whole large tart like this is my idea of a perfect not-so-unhealthy indulgence! continue reading
