The food was really value for money and tasted great, especially the unforgettable Schiacciata. The pork belly was flavourful, the octopus was tender, and the spaghetti pomodoro had a nice balance — not overly sour. The only downside was the lasagna, which took about 40 minutes to arrive. Staff were friendly and always making their rounds to top up water. It’s also one of the rare authentic places that doesn’t charge for plain tap water. No surprise you need to book weeks in advance. Great job, guys!Read More

Excellent first visit! Walked in without a reservation, but Jit got us a table within 5 minutes. Service was fantastic throughout. Highlights included the schiacciata with ham and burrata, crispy porchetta, and creamy orecchiette pasta. Desserts were amazing, with pistachio tiramisu and chocolate lava cake with espresso ice cream. Truly a great experience with incredible food and service.Read More

Despite the crowd, service was relatively fast and the staff were attentive. The food is top-tier! I especially loved the perfectly cooked pasta. They also offer a great selection of dishes and desserts. Highly recommend the pizza, tender octopus, and tiramisu. A fantastic spot for Italian dining!Read More

See my full reviews & photos at = http://chefquak.com/2015/04/28/some-interesting-fares-io-italian-osteria-on-15apr2015/daughter arranged a 6pax family dinner at io italian osteria at hillv2 on 15.4.2015.^^ she is now our f&b compass, bringing us to different happening dining places & chic cafes. we had a bruschetta, like a panini sandwich with ham & tomatoes. it was good!^^ the italian version of seafood bouillabaisse was very good standard – flavourful soup, good ingredients for S$14. beef carpaccio was ok. beef was sweet, good cheese & rockets. i guess a boring dish.calamari (our “sotong”) was not so good, squid was a bit tough. nothing like the calamari fritto i had recently at la braceria, but that cost a ridiculous 2.5x price! the crispy rice stuffed with mozzarella was quite ok too…errr…like lots of carbs.. ravioli was good standard but expensive. i think it was like S$28. porchetta with fennel was great dish for S$9. too big for 1 pax, just nice to share among 3 or 4pax. we had 6pax. lamb rack was to me below par, and expensive. not that it was expensive here, but these things are expensive in restaurants. 3 large pieces, but really i do a much better lamb! youngest daughter wanted to have key lime pie, it was not too bad but not my kind of dessert. i will certainly come back for the seafood bouillabaisse, bruschetta, porchetta, and don’t mind the crispy rice too.Read More

Charmed by its rustic interior and its pleasant bread counter laid up at its entrance, iO Italian Osteria has a friendly large team which aims to bring traditional italian traven back into the modern days. Its Italian concept dining environment and its open kitchen has somehow brought more knowledge to someone like me who know nuts about Italian cuisine. With my kind of thinking that Italian is just limited to pasta and pizzas, iO Italian Osteria had somehow upgraded my Italian cuisine menu.As we stepped into the restaurant, a special aroma engulfed us. It smell as if something was burning, perhaps the air was filled with a good mixture from both the Italian kitchen as well as its bakery. The friendly staff directed us to the seats and every table has already a piece of paper menu on it. By sitting nearby the bay windows, we get to see the moving vehicles on the round about nearby. As starters, we ordered a basket of assorted Italian breads. It comes in a paper bag of 4 - 5 kinds of breads, from hard to soft, complimented well with a good dip in the balsamic vinegar as well as olive oil.Like most European restaurants, drinking waters are chargeable and we ordered a bottle of still water to pair with our dishes. A wait worth waiting for! Oven roasted chicken was served on a heavy weighted wooden board supported by zucchini, potato and carrots, adorned with a stalk of thyme leaves. The meat as well as vegetables were all succulent and tasty!Serving of Cod fish was petite, placed in the middle of a big brown plate with assorted boiled vegetables stacked as it base and a pool of clear soup base surrounded. Soup has hints of cooking wine taste and was appetizing. We left the place with no stomach rooms for desserts. With their impeccable services and chanting environment, its hard not to be back again.Review from http://www.umakemehungry.com/2014/11/io-italian-osteria.htmlRead More
