Had dinner at itacho bedok mall last sat. It was crazy at bedok mall flooded with so many people. Despite being the 1st group in queue for 5-6pax, we had to wait for 25mins for a table. Serving of food is pretty slow and the servers missed out out drinks. Probably they were overwhelmed by the crowd. Still the service was generally good and polite. The crab meat chawamushi was nice and my son loved it. My father-in-law and mother-in-law had tempura udon. I found that average, nothing very special. I mean how special van a tempura udon be? HahaMy wife and I had sushi. I loved the fatty yellowtail, the geoduck, fatty salmon, bluefin tuna. The fish was fresh and of decent size. Also tried a codfish roe maki but it was disappointing. Could hardly see the roe and it didnt taste any different from ebi roe. Perhaps it was too little that I couldn't really taste it.Total bill was $95 which was decent for 4 adults and a 2yr old. Ichiban is still my favorite sushi chain but itacho is slowly catching up. Definitely better than sakae and sushi tei in my opinion. continue reading

Itacho Sushi latest outlet at Bedok Mall.Itacho Chef Recommendation upto 50 percent discounted on selected menu dishes. The most attractive sushi of the day was the Salmon sushi with Soy Sauce priced only at 40 cents per piece.Paid only 80 cents for two salmon sushi which was fragrant. FYI, this promotional dish is applicable for one order and not more. The Roasted squid leg was also another tasty sushi at special price of S$1.40 each.Next on the list was the Codfish Caviar Egg Roll. There were two pieces of the similar sushi at $2.20 per plate. These codfish pieces were fresh and crunchy. Topped with toasted black sesame seeds. The Clam with Butter and Pepper dish was at the promotional rate of S$4.00. Normal price at S$8.00.The clams were very fresh and crunchy. A little salty from the freshness of each clam and buttery taste is just yummy not peppery hot just right flavour. What I see is definitely what I get from this plate of Tiger Prawn with Curry Sauce. Served in a presentable layout of four pieces of sushi topped with tasty curry sauce and ebiko together with crunchy fresh prawn meat. Priced at S$7.80.The above prices are excluding 10% service charge and 7% GST.The service was a bit slow. The chefs ensured that each customer gets the best prepared sushi fresh from the sushi bar counter. Will go back for other dishes soon. continue reading
