Tucked away beside an escalator in the kids zone of United Square, it’s existence is a breakaway from the heavily commercial eateries that are in the mall. They serve Murtabaks and various Curry dishes, but there was a wide variety of Roti Prata with a combination of ingredients sold here, some of which are rather creative such as the Banana + Milk Prata. The Pratas sold here are elastic and nice to pull apart, which belongs to type I prefer instead of the crispy ones. It also wasn’t very oily. The Garlic Prata had many cloves of garlic in it, which gave the prata a strong hint of it’s flavour without being too overwhelming and complimented the curry well. The Onion & Egg one had a generous serving of onions and egg and was rather well-packed and evenly-spread.For the full review, please visit: http://jiaksimipng.wordpress.com/2013/04/13/jalan-kayu-the-prata-cafe-united-square/ continue reading

My regular go to place for good prata! Jalan Kayu Prate Cafe's convenient location at uniter square shopping mall is a huge draw! The prata is consistently good, and the curry that comes with it is flavourful and slightly tangy. A wide variety of pratas is also available. However one small drawback is that the pratas here are slightly pricey, probably due to the shops location in a mall. continue reading

Decided to try this prata shop since I was nearby and decided to try its plain prata which cost $1.10 and Cheese and egg prata which cost $2.80 each. The prata are made fresh and served hot and is a popular stall amongst prata lovers. The prata are crispy and the the cheese and egg prata was surprisingly a good combination. The cheese and egg was not too salty and the curry sauce served with the prata was not too spicy nor was it too salty and it taste good with the prata! Good to try for all prata lovers! continue reading

A place to enjoy your prata in air-conditioned comfortA light lunch and a comfortable place for chit-chatting. We decided to share one egg prata and kosong prata between the 2 of us; and we ordered an ice lemon barley and an ice teh. I very much wanted to try the mee goreng as well but had to refrain from eating too much in order to stick to the plan of having a light lunch.Maybe this is the only prata house that provide air conditioning and also the hygiene in this prata house is more acceptable compared to other usual prata house. So, everyone that enjoy prata come here and have a visit. continue reading
