Jamboree Bar is nestled on the 2nd floor of Orchard Towers. Country music lovers would be pleased to hear old school country music from the likes of Johnny Cash and George Strait. I spent my lunch here as it is near my office one afternoon.I haven't tried many things on the menu, but the classic fish and chip. My co-worker order something else from the set lunch - club sandwich, chicken chop, although I secretly think most of them forced themselves to order only because our boss bring us to this place, LOL! Prices are on the high side, food is average. The Café is always clean and neatly organized. Customer service really depends on who is working. About the food, the cod fish n chips was soggy and the fries equally so. The layers between the breading and the fish would have been a little less mushy. You could get a better fish n chips at a hawker center. If one has a hankerin' for some pretty traditional fish 'n chips, i wont recommend here but on a plus side. It makes for a fast, filling lunch and 1 point up for deco. continue reading

It was lunch so my extremely nice and awesome colleagues and I went to Jamboree Bar for our lunch since it was within walking distance from our office and located in Orchard district. I ordered the club sandwich lunch combo set which comes with a soup and drink. The soup is mushroom soup but... I was expecting it to be a thick with mushroom bits soup. But it taste extremely good though! Yummy yummy! The club sandwich is very different and unique from what other place is selling. Instead of bacon, they replaced it with picnic ham, which is oh my, my favorite! There's also sunny side up which is very well done to my likeness and a few veggies in it (Not a fan of vegs so it's ok!). The sandwich bread can be a bit better if it's softer and spread with margarine/butter but never mind about cos it still taste very very very nice!Overall my meal cost $14 NETT! No GST or whatsoever hidden charge marks one of the best part of this cafe! continue reading

Team lunch with my boss and fellow colleagues. Jamboree is a place whereby you will find country side feel, the cow boy waitress and the county music. Personally, I do no know how to appreciate country music hence I do not really like the atmosphere. The place give me a feel of me being in Texas. However, I do not know how did all this came about. We order our main dishes and almost everyone have a soup of the day and drinks to come along. If I'm not wrong, the soup is from a canned soup, something like Campbell. It don't taste good at all. Well, for the price I'm paying, I should not grumble much. The menu is stuck on the table itself, not alot of varieties, however it's a bar so what's more to expect from this?My main course was fish & chips. The batter is way too thick, almost everything I taste was flour and the fish was not that fresh. The sauce they gave was pretty solid hence I won't blend into my fish. Overall, I feel that the service was okay however, the food really gotta work on it. continue reading

Introduced by my lovely colleagues, I decided to lunch here as I've heard about the really cheap and awesome food served here at Jamboree Bar. It is call bar with a reason cos the beer here is really indeed very dirt cheap. Cost only $4.90 from 11am - 6pm, not even $5! Happy hour wise is even more cheap than outside, it only costs $6! A place to consider to chill out after work!I had the Fish & Chips Set which comes with soup and drinks and guess what? It only costs $16! Note that the price is NETT, so you don't have to worry about 7% GST and 10% Service Charge even though the service is not up to standard. The fish and chips is beer battered and guess what? The beer taste is so fragrant and make the whole dish sweet! It is also very crispy yet soft inside and the combination is so yummy yummy! The soup wise is nice too! Add more pepper and salt for more flavors! Too bad it can't be refilled not I will definitely have many many many bowls of it! continue reading

When we first reach the place, i had the impression that its more a pub than a restaurant. I ordered the chicken chop which doesnt comes with free drink and soup of the day. It took quite awhile for the food to be served. While waiting, i saw a few tourists coming in for a drink. When my chicken chop was served, It looks good. But i find it rather salty for my taste. The coleslaw and fries are ok. But service is quite ok and country music lovers shld appreciate this place. continue reading
