Rich-flavoured snowy ice was a perfect choice to suit summer weather at Singapore, nothing beats having a soothing dessert. Durian paste was heavily laid on the plate, pearls were generously given too. $5.50 was a steep price, but it can be shared up to 3 persons due to huge portion.

The latter is more for my Mum who fancies such desserts better than shaved ice. Anyway my sisters and I digged in with our Snow Ice dessert which came with slices of strawberry and mango cubes. It's quite interesting how they manage to incorporate the flavour into the shaved ice and come up with such a pretty colour. Anyway I like it since it's soft and creamy, a bit like ice cream but without the strong diary taste. The fruits also provide a nice texture to go along with the shaved ice.

For the Mango with Pomelo Sago with Herbal Jelly, the pomelo is abit bitter but i guess that evens out the sweetness of the mango "soup". Overall i think i like the Snow Ice range of desserts better for it seems at most dessert shops, they seem to like to pair pomelo and mango together.

The service is quite efficient as they always try to find ways for customers to get seats, thus saving on the waiting time. Though it may be inconvenient to some who may end up shifting seats. The food is also served quickly and this helps with the turnover of seats in the small dessert parlour.

One of my favourite dessert place. The price is considered affordable. Service is great, staffs are attentive however the shop can get abit crowded sometimes. Almond Paste - $3
My disclaimer above is to defend for the interests of my official new favourite dessert at Hong Kong dessert places - the almond paste. It is subtly sweet and has a super almond fragrance. Some people find that almond paste tastes like medicine; I used to think the same too. There's really a psychological barrier you have to get past but once you learn to appreciate it... it's really godly. Definitely recommended for almond lovers. The fact that it's a hot dessert also makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Perfect to counter Singapore's chilly weathers.

Blueberry Snowflake Ice - $5.50
The blueberry flavour in this lavender-hued icy dessert tastes rather artificial, not for the health-conscious. Snowflake ice desserts are naturally refreshing and there was another dimension to the dessert with the burst of the lychee and also chewy glutinous balls. I wish there were more glutinous balls though. I would recommend the other flavoured shaved ice though.

Swing by this dessert shop located at The Marketplace of Jurong Point on the third floor to enjoy Hong Kong desserts served by efficient and polite servers.

The Lime flavoured shaved ice is also a refreshing option as most people won’t think of creating a lime flavoured shaved dessert.

sawdust pudding with red bean
they have one of the best puddings ever!! i really love the "sawdust" texture. this is not your usual pudding. when you put it in your mouth, it sort of melts. they were also very generous with the red bean sides.

service was also efficient, resulting in a high turnover rate of customers.

One thing I really dislike is that the store is too small, we had wait for a long time before our turn!

Can't remember the pricing of the dessert, but is somewhere around $5.

Decided to try the infamous black sesame snow ice at Ji De Chi. The dish is a mixture of nata de coco, red bean paste, pearl like jellies, black sesame shaved ice topped with red bean sauce. Portion is just right for a small eater like me. Ji De Chi is always an awesome place for desserts after a meal with my friends or colleagues.

As compared to the typical ice desserts you find in hawker centres, I preferred the snow ice here as the ice are shaved! This means that you won't bite into ice cubes that are not crush properly by the ice crusher and you will only taste smooth shaved ice. I also like that the ice has got a very strong flavor and not like the typical ice desserts where they just pour sugar syrup into the crushed ice. I guess the reason was probably because they took time to make different flavored ice blocks before shaving them into snow ice (so that the ice will have more taste!) and not just pouring syrup into plain shaved ice.

Another good thing is that there are a great variety of different flavors to choose from and the ingredients for each ice are fresh and delicious too! Even though the prices of the snow ice desserts are slightly more expensive than hawker centers, I still think it is worth it for the quality and the serving is quite generous (can be shared between 2-3 pax).

One thing to note is that there might be some crowd during the period after dinner/lunch time and so some waiting time is required. For people who do not like to wait, it's advisable to avoid this timing. Perhaps you can visit in the afternoon when there's lesser people.

Hot Beancurd

My boyfriend's mom order this. My boyfriend and I will always get cold beancurd however his mom would prefer hot beancurd and I always fail to find that for her because I know one stall at the east side sell real good beancurd but however is far. His mom really enjoy this beancurd she had at ji de chi and that's her standard order whenever we head to ji de chi.

Chocolate shave ice.
I shared this with my boyfriend sister. I think it's good enough for 2 pax portion because the serviing is pretty huge.

It's pretty one of the best next to the steam milk. I have tried almost every shave ice they have there. Probably this would rank second because the matcha shaved ice taste really good.

Staff are warmed and friendly. Service received is fine, especially when we were in the queue, they offered us menu first.

Ambience
Was given the firs table with the number tag slanted and pointed out of the table. I took a look at the surrounding tables and realised some of the number tagging are not upright too.

Service
Service are fast and prompt as the turn over rates are high.

Ambience
You can always see that there are queues outside the stall and the workers' working pace are considerably fast in the Ji De Chi. Within one of 2 minutes the customers leave their table, they have the table cleared and clean up. Desserts are served promptly after your order was made.

Price
I believe the pricing is quite competitive and Ji De Chi has its own market positioning and reputation. Somewhere in the building, we have another desserts franchise and was closed down recently. When the franchise is active, there are no crowds outside the shop as compared to Ji De Chi.

Recommendations / Tips
There are number of snow ice flavours. They are all very tasty. I love the green tea flavour as well.

Being a fan of snow ice, I ordered the Mango Strawberry Flavour Snowy Ice. It was rich in mango and strawbery taste, with strawberry slices and mango cubes. It was drizzled woth passionfruit sauce I think, which added extra flavour to the dessert! There were lychee pearls and rice balls too. I loved the lychee balls, which contained lychee flavoured syrup. It just burst in your mouth.
