I was walking along ABC Hawker Centre and I saw a dessert stall menu board showing Gangster Ice 流氓冰. I wonder what was it so special that the boss named this dessert that way. The 流氓冰 came with a surprise, there was a ball of yellow ice cream on top of the mango ice. But when I scoop the yellow ball of ice cream, it seem to smell like durian and had fibre texture. When I eat the yellow ball of ice cream, it was actually real frozen durian meat. Ot was very tasty, I never knew frozen durian tasted so good and refreshing.

The mango in the bowl of 流氓冰 however was more sourish than sweet. But nevertheless the shaved ice was sweetened, eating mango with the shaved ice would not be so sourish.

Ever since I discovered this dessert stall and saw so many reviews & awards, I will always buy from this stall for my dose of dessert. It reminds me of the ice-ball that my parents used to eat and I love the Power Chendol. Ingredients such as chendol & red bean are all very fresh. Coconut milk also quite thick and overall does not taste so sweet. Best part the price is only $1.50 which is cheaper compared to other stalls. The queue can be quite long during peak hours and overall, is a must try for all chendol lovers !

After having my chicken cutlet at Wow Wow West, I decided to order Penang Ice Kacang to cool down since the weather is hot tat day. This stall is unique as compared to other stalls because this is the only stall that offer Penang Ice Kacang with black sugar syrup drenched on top with coconut milk inside. The Ingredients all very fresh and I like the black sugar syrup combined with coconut milk as it gives me a refreshing & cooling sensation and is not overly sweet. Overall, is a must try for all

The normal bowl of Cheng Tng would cost $1.50 but this was a special edition bought on top of their usual bowl of Cheng Tng. The only thing special was that it was added with 2 big pieces of sweet potatoes, boiled and softened in texture. The Cheng Tng alone was cooling and not very sweet. Red Ruby, a common dessert that uses water chestnuts bites with tapioca flour and red coloring over it which gives a thin jelly like layer. While the bottom portion was make up of shaved ice with abundance of coconut milk adding fragrance to the bowl of lovely dessert.

Jin Jin Hot/Cold Dessert had always been my alternative dessert stall when my other favourite stall had closed for its day. I was kind of shocked to see such snaky queues out there when I headed to Jin Jin. The queue did not deter us from the idea of having sweet stuffs after meal and instead, I went on joining the queue. Manned by 3 guys, one taking other outside the stall with the other 2 preparing the order. Waited for almost 25 minutes to clear queue(with less than 10 pax) ahead of me. I wou

Waited for almost 25 minutes to clear queue(with less than 10 pax) ahead of me. I would say that their service was slower than the other stall that I patronized thus one of the reasons for such long queues.

The bowl of Mango Ice features some fresh mangoes over the cooling bed of shaved ice that was drenched with evaporated & condensed milk. Mangoes are more towards soury taste and quite refreshing.
Cost: S$2.00

Honestly, the bowl of Ching Tng is just too sweet for my liking. Ingredients added were very standard like most of the Ching Tng from a desserts stall. Nothing in particular special here.

Have you ever heard of Gangster Ice? It is a creation by the owner, which is made of mango ice and durian flesh. There were generous serving of mango cubes drizzled over with condensed milk and topped with a scoop of durian.I like the mango most as it is sweet and rich in taste, but the durian would have better if it is less watery. I will definitely recommend my friends to check out this dessert stall.

This simple and yet an all time favourite dessert to everyone has never fail to impress me. Love their really firm and smooth almond jelly which are in this cold dessert which is very fragrant, sweet and also generous in portion. The longan is also quite fresh and crunchy too. This dessert really coole off during a very hot weather and is definitely refreshing too.

I like how they put the red beans all over the ice. I can eat the red beans with the ice right from my first mouthful. It's unlike other stalls where they leave the red beans below, and I always end up eating the ice and red beans seperately. It's good innovation, but makes for bad presentation. Overall, I think it's slightly better than average, but the portion could be bigger.

This stall is outstanding because young people man the stall, and they are proud of what they serve. Most of the other dessert stalls that I patronized are manned by older people - the one in Queenstown, Zion Road, former Margaret drive. They are quite a tired lot but this bunch of youngsters is raring to go.Ambience: It's a clean food center but don't expect much. They are friendly too, with such services; I think it will attract more customers for sure.

After feasting on the savory food and when it's time for a dessert, all of us just know that a refreshing icy sweet thingy kind will be good to end the meal with. All my friends ordered their in house special which was the durain on ice, and when the order came, the pungent of the durian was very overwhelming and my friends said that the durain flesh was good. I settled for a mango on ice instead and It was nothing fanciful yet it was nice as the mango was riped and sweet and refreshing.

I regretted for not ordering their chendol after my first mouthful. The taste of my soursop ice was towards sourish. The amount of soursop given was quite generous but the taste seemed quite mild maybe due to the coloring used. I know i would not order their soursop again but i am keen to try their chendol.

Chendol is nice. But it depends on the quality of the ingredients and how the person make it..The coconut brown sugar must be fragrance including the coconut milk and its freshness.sugar must be thick enough.. the ingredients too. some of the jelly thingy.. which is green in colour .. those soft ones freshly made taste better..well this stall's chendol.. definitely is one of them =)

The first impression of this soursop ice was the color of the soursop. I doubt green is the natural color of the fruit. The stall owner might tried to make it different from others stall so added color to change it from white to green. The creative effort is worth commendable but i still very much prefer to have my soupsop in its natural color. Perhaps the first impression does matter in this very instance, i did not really enjoy this bowl of soursop ice. Perhaps they might want to consider adding a little syrup to balance the sourish taste of soursop just like that one i had at the East Coast Lagoon Food Village.

When I was working around the area, I had a bowl of mango ice almost daily. Their mango ice is different from what you get elsewhere. After the shaved ice, they layer on a generous dollop of mango puree, pour on carnation milk, place huge slices of mango on top before adding even more milk. What you get is a milky, sweet and delightful dessert. Their ice is also shaved finely and melts easily in your mouth. A clear winner! Definitely worth the queue.
