Menu with old fashion design and stains on it. This is my first negative review and I suggest one to exercise caution before dining at this place. First of all, the service was bad. The staff got the orders wrong and some dishes took very long to arrive (the bill came immediately though).Sashimi Rice Set. This dish was passable. I asked the staff where the fishes were from but she declined to answer. However, she did mention that the fishes arrived only the day before. The sashimi was ok, not too fresh, but not unfresh either. It's like what you get at mass market japanese chains. The rice was a little too sour in my opinion. This dish was horrible and I suggest for all to skip it. It took nearly 45mins to arrive. The tempura carrot was too hard (almost non-edible) and the tempura golden mushroom only had a few pathetic strands of mushroom with like 95% flour chunks. The noodle tastes like rubber bands (too hard, not spongy). continue reading

There’s not much here at Shaw Towers, just thought of checking out the place cos always drive past but never really walked. Once seated, I noticed it was quiet, nice place to sit down chit chat. limited seats. We ordered something simple , Bento Sets. The staff were very helpful. The taste of the bentos was pretty alright, like economical japanese rice sets because it's very affordable. Easy on the wallet. continue reading

Very humble restaurant and only with a Chinese Waiter and a chef in the kitchen. Went on Mother's Day evening and surprisingly only us at the restaurant, which later came another table occupied. The waiter tried very hard to provide us with good services and he also needs to manage the delivery service.Food wise, good and sashimi was reasonable fresh. a platter of 25 pcs for $21.90. The Don and Udon are typically priced between $6.90 - $9.90. Drinks wise are on the high side. Green tea at $1/ and can drinks are $1.80 - 2.50Was comfortable as there was no need to squeeze or queue up at crowded restaurants. Will visit again. Total bill was $60 approx. continue reading

JK Don is located in Shaw Towers and serves Japanese and Korean cuisines. On my second visit to JK Don, having tried their spicy chicken previously, I decided to try their beef and rice. The portion of beef served was rather generous (like my first visit), and they were thinly sliced and very tender. However, although well-marinated, the taste of the beef was average. Overall a convenient place to have a quick meal. continue reading
