I got the Mixed Beef Noodles, which had chunky beef, beef tendon, beef balls and beef stomach. Everything was really nice and flavourful as all the flavour of the gravy had gone into the meat. You could tell that the different beef parts have been well-marinated and cooked for very long in the gravy which was just right - not too thick nor watery. The thick rice noodles were coated in the smooth gravy so you'd be sure that every mouthful you get would be really tasty continue reading

A late dinner at Tiong Bahru Market and there isn't many stalls open by the time I was there. Decided to go for beef noodles by this 2 Chinese nationals as it seems that they are still open (unlike other stalls which is already started clearing up). I ordered myself a dry beef noodles and was surprised at how generous the portion is. It was big and filled with quite a lot of beef slices. The sauce for the dry noodles tasted good too, not too salty or diluted. The soup which came along tasted good too. Beef slices was not overcooked and I was happy to still be able to had such nice noodle for dinner at that hour. Thumbs up! continue reading

Chanced upon this stall with it's nice, bright signboard for beef noodles. Well, it says beef king right? So I gotta try and see if it lives up to its name For a regular bowl of beef noodles ($3.50), the amount of beef given was rather generous. The beef slices were rather tender without the use of any tenderizer. The soup base was quite tasty as well with some herbal taste to it. Generally not bad, if only they had put some vegetables like bean sprouts, it would have made the meal more complete. Well, unless you hate bean sprouts of course. Well, it's worth a try if you like beef soup. Tiong bahru market's gonna become more of my regular haunt now ever since I've discovered it. Although it's a food center, it's really airy, spacious and surprisingly clean with lots of food choices with its numerous food stalls. continue reading
