As we are the early birds, the waiting time for serving food didn't waited long.  There quite a variety of food to choose from. i.e, Tim Sum, Noodles/ congee, Speciality,  Vegetables & Dessert. We ordered stir fried carrot cake, steamed pork & shrimp, Salted egg custard Bun, Glutinous chicken rice in lotus rice, steamed BBQ bun, Deep fried sesame bun with red bean paste, poached pork wanton in spicy & chilli oil, Salted chicken in spicy sauce and many more. Each portion comes in 3 pcs and just nice for the 3 of us.

Staff are observant and cater to needs immediaely.

I like the osmanthus with wolfberry cake the most.
It is light & refreshing. not too sweet as well. we had ordered 3 servings.
Their signature dish, durian crepe, is a disappointment though. Too much cream and too little durian fillings. As compared, i prefer the osmanthus with wolfberry cake more than the durian crepe.

We saw the banner promoting dim sum buffet lunch at $19.80+ per adult for weekday. So, we decided to go for it and gave us a chance to try the different types of dim sum.

There are six dim sum categories as below:
1. Steamed
2. Baked & Fried
3. Vegetables
4. Noodle/Congee
5. Specialty
6. Dessert

As it is a buffet, we limited ourselves to a few baked and fried dim sum so that we can try each dim sum from other categories. Please try to order a few dim sum at a time. If not, you will be too full to try the rest.

Below is my recommendation.

1. Steamed
a. Beancurd roll with pork and abalone sauce - NICE, MUST order

b. Steamed pork and shrimp dumpling - NICE, CAN order
c. Steamed salted egg custard bun - NICE, CAN order

Overall, I enjoyed the dim sum here much better than some of the other Chinese restaurants. Go for the items in "Specialty" category as the items are unique and more pricey and it is worth to try it. You must definitely try their signature dessert i.e. durian pancake! The durian is sweet and bitter and I love it so much!

I paid S$46 for two adults. If we were to order the dim sum individually, the bill would have been S$123!!!. Hence, it is really quite worth it to try their dim sum buffet. Please note that this restaurant does not impose Service Charge for dining. This is another good advantage.

300 characters!ok! Then i will try to rewrite the content in English. Actually, JU CHUN YUAN is not a large canteeen, but the emphasis is quite good. it is good for those who like guangdong dim sim! the price is ok, i will try again.

Read an article about liu sha bao around Singapore and one of its recommendations is the LSB at Ju Chun Yuan. After trying it out, I would say it was good but I had better at other places. The four season siew mai was their speciality and I felt it looks unique but taste wise it didn't taste any dfferent. This dimsum lunch buffet is also one of the cheaper ones around Singapore and I think as a whole it was worth the price. The superior sauce pork ribs are one of their specialty items but I find it to be so-so only. The baked barbecued pork bun was quite disappointing as all of us find the the skin is too much and overpowers the filling inside.

Compared to the har gow, the siew mais here are good, which was pretty unexpected! One of the items you have to order is the four seasons dumpling, as you can't find it anywhere else. Well, I have never encountered this dumpling before! It is actually pork within the four ingredients in the dumpling. Not bad!

I didn't like the ratio of too much flour to filling inside the char siew sou but the sweetness of the char siew filling was just right.

These two were the highlight of my dim sum buffet! Being an ultimate fan of custard paus, I was so eager to try their version, which is a Pandan skin Salted Egg Custard Bun! The custard literally flows out and one two or even three of it is really not enough! We tried amost all the items from the dessert list, like the Yam pudding, Pumpkin pudding, Almond pudding, Mango and Pomelo Sago and homemade Mua Chee, but none was worth mentioning except the Chilled Durian & Fresh Cream in Pancake. Eating the pancake definitely sent me to Heaven land as it was tooooo good. We ordered more of it which was too addictive!
The other items we ordered were the steamed spare ribs, steam creamy yolk bun(definitely cannot fight with the salted egg custard bun!), century egg pork congee (not bad), pork shank with garlic (not bad), pan fried crabcake, pan fried sesame ball, steamed carrot cake(no need to try). Now the next time I come back here I will know what to order!

Spring Ju Chun Yuan - a collaboration between Far East Hospitality and Ju Chun Yuan, which is known for its Fuzhou cuisine in China. Apparently the boss of Far East ate at the restaurant in China and was so impressed by the food that he decided to bring it to Singapore, lock, stock and barrel with no modifications done to suit the Singaporean palate. And Ju Chun Yuan's claim to fame It's purportedly the birth place of the extremely pricey and decadent "Buddha Jumps Over The Wall" (佛跳墙).

Aptly located at Far East Square, Ju Chun Yuan is housed in a conserved Chinese courtyard complete with traditional frontage and a tiled roof from ancient Chinese times as well as bamboo shoots flanking the walkway that leads to the restaurant. The interior however, is modern Chinese with a touch of class and sophistication.

Three Delicacies "Min Appetizers" Combination - The first of the three delicacies - Cashew nuts lightly coated with sugar to give it a mild sweetness and sheen. Nice and crunchy and I happen to have a weakness for cashews so this suited me just fine. The second delicacy was essentially winter melon strips dipped into orange syrup. The strips had a nice crunch and tasted mildy sweet with a zesty tinge of orange. Great as a snack. Third was the cucumber slices that had a mild and sharp spicy taste to it. Not a big fan of cucumbers though, so I didn't venture past my first piece.

Pan Fried Cod Fish with House Recipes - According to the waitress, the house recipe contained about 10 different spices in it and I was sold, especially when you throw cod fish into the equation. But honestly, it didn't quite pan out as expected. Sure, the sauce was mildly sweet and very light but the batter coating on the fish slices was a little too thick and I couldn't quite make out the texture of the cod nor the sweetness of the flesh. Disappointing.

Braised Beancurd with Vegetables Served in Fuzhou Style - Beancurd is comfort food to me and I like it done in any way, well almost. I don't exactly know what fuzhou style tofu entails but this dish tasted like normal braised beancurd (红烧豆府) to me. Average but edible.

Braised "Lychee" Minced Pork with Water Chestnut - I opted for this dish because I was intrigued by lychee, water chestnut and minced pork together in 1 dish. It turned out to be a most unwise decision. For starters, the minced pork comprised mostly fatty pork and carried an overwhelming pork taste. The lump of chestnut in the center of the meat ball added a nice crunch to it while the drizzled sauce tasted sweet, very much like those you would find on sweet and sour pork (咕噜肉). There was no taste of lychee whatsoever.

Fried Rice with Minced Shrimp and Egg White Served in Fuzhou Style - As aesthetically pleasing as the fried rice looked with its homogeneously egg coated grains of rice, it fell short in taste. There was no discernible wok hei taste and the whole dish lacked any flavour to the extent of being bland. Still edible though as the rice was soft and moist with reasonable servings of chopped prawns and other condiments. One thing I realised was that the rice seemed more steamed then fried. The restaurant probably steamed it for quite a bit before doing a fast fry with minimal oil.

Cold White Fungus with Osmanthus Syrup - A light and sweet cold white fungus dessert with floral connotations from the osmanthus to end off the disappointing meal. As average as it gets.

Fuzhou Yam Pudding - I had been dying to try out Ju Chun Yuan's rendition of my favourite dessert, yam pudding, ever since it was billed as one of the best by local media sometime back. On hindsight, I should have known about the overhyping that plagues most local media these days. Though the yam pudding was smooth, it retained little moisture, making it a tad dry. It wasn't fragrant either, probably due to the minimal or lack of lard. What was different was the addition of sesame seeds, which really boils down to personal preference.

To be fair, it may be because I am not used to authentic Fuzhou cuisine like the way they do it in China Either that, or they really need to work on their food.

It's very scenic from exterior, as though, I'm in a illusion Ancient Chinese world. mm, too bad, the staff brought us to our seats in Level 2 before we can admire our surroundings. There's indoor and outdoor seats available, given the terrible warm weather - outdoor seats are not a good choice

We walked up a staircase with some Chinese poems embedded on the wall, a long sleeping chair with chess and a guzheng on the other side. It would be good if one of the staff could play some tunes with the guzheng during dinner - definitely add more points! Oh, private dinning rooms are available too.

Cabbage is soft and we can taste the sweetness of the cabbage and the sauce compliments it. A few dried scallops increase its flavour too.

The server recommended this to us, saying that it's one of the top selling dishes. True as what she said - it doesn't have the alkaline taste and doesn't turn soggy after 15 to 20 minutes. The flavour is heavy, which is suitable for people like me
They are generous with ingredients too, in fact, the portion is too much for 2 persons.

It's very well-presented but it's a bit dried, unlike the usual Teochew style, whereby it's smooth and thick.

Lobster!!!This is a lobster dish. The lobster meat is covered in a kind of yellow sauce. The sauce is not bad but it could be improved. The sauce is a little too bland. This dish could do better in presentation too. The plate/bowl they use looks like one side of a cymbal. The lobsters are placed in the small middle of the plate/bowl making it look like there is very little on the plate/bowl. Also the plate/bowl is a little too heavy. Not very ideal for moving around.

They should also increase their food portion.

This is a fish dish. The fish is very crispy and it is covered with a kind of thick sauce. It tastes great but it was a little too salty. This dish could do better in presentation. Although the plate they use has a very special shape, it is not very practical. Because the plate they used is too big. On one side is the fish and on the other side it is one small broccoli. It makes the dish look like there is very little stuff on it. They should also increase the portion of the fish.

When we reached this dish, each one of us are positively stuffed. However, the mee sua in this dish is cut up so we could eat it easily. There are many ingredients in this dish like prawns, black fungus and more. You have to mix the mee sua and the ingredients together. I dislike the black fungus and had a hard time picking it out. However, on the overall it tastes good. The soup was a little bland. However, when you add the sauce from the mushroom dish, the taste is better.

I have no idea what this dish is named but it is delicious. The sauce is great and when eaten together with rice, it is even better. The sauce is not too salty. The remainder of the sauce can be used for other dishes. The mushrooms are soft and your teeth can sink through the mushroom easily. It has no taste of mushroom. Also, it maybe the mushroom that people use to substitute abalone, I think this dish is even better than the real abalone.
