The rice in this hot pot is really fragrant and really soft and easy to chew. The bigger version of beansprouts used in this dish are also very crunchy and with natural sweetness in it. the thinly sliced mushroom is also very fragrant and smooth in texture. The lean beef meats are very tender and juicy and the combination of these ingredients in the hot pot is definitely very appetitizing and make you crave for more even after your first hot pot has been completed. continue reading

Park and Yun had the lofty idea of bringing authentic Korean food to the world and Singapore has became their first stop. They have 3 restaurants in Singapore and Ju Shin Jung at 112 Katong Food Republic will be their first express counter.Mixed Vegetables Rice in Hot Stone @ S$7.80The savory and satisfying combinations of brown rice and other grains, vegetables and meat has very nice fragrant of peppery taste. Our rice is purple in colour! continue reading

I am certainly a very big fan of hot stone rice. I decided to give the one at the new stall at I12 Katong Food Republic a try. This hot stone rice is definitely one of the better ones and I am glad that I have tried it. Their kimchi is very crunchy, fresh and juicy. The best part is that it's not too spicy, very suitable for me as I cannot take food that's too spicy. I like the Japanese rice used here as it's purple in colour. I am not sure what types of rice they have used, but they're certainly quality rice. The different types of vegetables used are also fresh and nice. Would come back for more of it when I am free. continue reading

Headed straight to the stall when I entered the food court. It had been quite awhile since I had eaten Korean food, and I had never tried this dish at food court before. The rice was served in the stone ware as usual, and presentation was good. But disappointing taste! There is moisture trapped in between the rice and the bowl, which made the rice soogy and lack of the "burn" coat of rice. Very disappointed and not again! continue reading
