This Bak Chor Mee stall was featured in Channel 8 “Just Noodles 面对面”. Hence, there was a long queue during Lunch time. The queue time was about 20 minutes. Initally I wanted to order their famous curry noodle, but when it was my turn to order, they had just soldout, hence I ordered the Bak Chor Mee Pok.At $3, the Bak Chor Mee Pok had generous portion of meat and pork liver. I had noticed that this Bak Chor Mee stall used button mushroom instead of Shitake mushroom. This Bak Chor Mee tasted good.

At $3, the Bak Chor Mee Pok had generous portion of meat and pork liver. I had noticed that this Bak Chor Mee stall used button mushroom instead of Shitake mushroom.

This Bak Chor Mee tasted good. The mee pok was springy and cooked just right. There was right amount of pok lard oil in the mee pok that made it silky smooth when eating. The minced meat tasted soft and tender, I guessed that they had marinated the meat before.

Rather famous after Mediacorp TV variety show, Jurong Fong Yuen was always in lengthy lining up. Few choices available on the board, I was attracted by its signature Bar Chor Mee. Talking about their dish, I opted for Kway Teow in soup by the way. Transparent and thinly noodles remained springy and not over-cooked. Two pork balls and fish balls were added, the portion was substantial with hearty soup. Right texture of meat, saltiness was okay for my liking. Not expensive at $3.00, the most important thing that the taste was not bad which worth the queue.

The queue was unavoidable especially when lunch time come. My bowl of Mee Sua Bak Chor Mee (BCM) was meticulously prepared by the uncle. Mee sua was cooked till soften at the perfect texture and the Bak Chor (Minced Meat) was repeatedly boiled in a metal thin then their cooker till the meat was soften.

Since I'm ordering the dry version, the mee sua went through a few rounds of mixing by him before the meat was topped onto them.

During this process, his helper had scooped a cup of soup, filtered by the sieve as she poured the flavourful soup into the bowl.

The taste together with the delicious minced meat and meat balls had blended well with the chilli sauce. Perfect meal for lunch!

FoodBesides having its Mince Pork Noodles, I also like this Curry Chicken Bee Hoon as I find it quite rare a dish to find. You can see the surrounding tables filled with Jurong Fong Yuen's Curry Noodles and its minced pork noodle. Curry gravy is not watery and taste is moderately ok. Self service and long queues are expected. Auntie is good as I can have my free flow of spring onions.

Ambience
Hawker centre environment and is often crowded and lack of seatings during lunch hours.

Price
Relatively reasonable pricing.

Recommendation / Tips
You need some water to go along with this dish.

Ambience
A hawker centre environment is ever noisy during lunch hours.

Price
Standard market rate.

Recommendation / Tips
Try it with chilli and tomato

This food centre is another hangout for lunch with colleagues. I came and decided to order the fishball noodle from this stall for the first time. I ordered the mee pok dry with extra chilli. The mee pok was cooked to a consistent texture of springiness. It came serving with minced meat and fishball. Their chilli was a little spicier than expected but it has given the extra kick to the noodle. A soup that came with the noodle was quite flavorful.

Another place that i usually go for my lunch. The minced pork mee pork is one of my regular lunch option. I always go for mee pok with extra chilli added. The mee pok here came with a handful of minced meat, fishcake and also the fishball. They added nicely fried pork lards to the mee pok to enhance the flavour. If you are not too health conscious, you might want to add an extra amount of it! That is how i enjoyed my bowl of mee pok. The mee pok came with a bowl of flavourful soup too.
