There wasn't much crowd in the restaurant on a weekday night despite the other restaurants having long queue so we tried this place. Ordered the carbonara and it was disappointing. Kabe No Ana Restaurant has a long history of its own. It was established in 1953 and they invented the mentaiko spaghetti and is the original Japanese Spaghetti House. We have the first outlet here in Singapore which is opened by RE&S Enterprises Pte Ltd. It is under the same group with Ichiban Sushi & Ichiban Boshi but with different concept of restaurant. My sister and I decided to give it a try on of one our dinner date after work.Menu and order sheet were presented to us once we are seated.

Menu and order sheet were presented to us once we are seated. We flipped through the menu and placed our order through the order sheet. The service staff will then process our order accordingly. Serving time was approximately 15-20 minutes.

Mentaiko Salmon Avocado @S$15.90
Spaghetti Salmon & avocado with spicy cod roe sauce was served in a big plate which looks very appertizing. The portion was quite valuable with the price offer. Mentaiko sauce was strong and can’t really taste of the avocado in it.

Hotate Mentai Cream Sauce @S$15.90
Scallop and shimeji mushroom with spicy cod roe carbonara sauce was definitely a good choice of the day. The creamy sauce compliments well with the spaghetti. Smooth creamy thick sauce well absorbed into the scallops and mushroom gives a tasty taste.

There is a side menu which stated Add on S$2.00 to upsize the pasta. Few options are available and we decided to go for mini salad & soup @S$2.50. The mini salad and soup was served before the spaghetti which we think it is a good start for the dinner.

Total bill was S$43.20 inclusive of 10% service charges and 7% service charges. Usually we asked for bill and the service staff will come with the bill but this is not the practise in this outlet. Payment is to be made at the cashier counter. Dinner was decent with the price offer.

Right dining option, the pasta was healthy. Warm lightning the shop enhanced the looking of my plate, creaminess of noodle was remarkable. Evenly mixed up with the whole, pasta was well-cooked and chewy. Sauce was light yet flavoursome, special recipe from chef. $13.90 before GST and service charge, the price was somewhat acceptable. Trust me, pasta lover will definitely fond it.

This place has rather affordable jap/western fusion food. Their set lunches are at around $12+ but choices of spaghetti are rather limited (only 3 available); set lunch comes with a drink and a dessert (chocolate ice cream which tastes like typical ice cream from a tub). The vongole spaghetti was average. I had the salmon mayo baked rice - portion was alright but might be too little for big eaters. I like how the sauce complemented the rice, not bad a choice.

Having a gathering with friend at Nex Serangoon, we came to this Japanese restaurant, Kabe no Ana.Our main dish, my friend said her spaghetti looked more appetizing than mine, but why do we both agree that own self one tasted better? The dessert here was the combination of cold vanilla ice cream topped with a couple of blue berries and a strawberry. Both berries were refreshing, a stick of “sugar crush” biscuit hanged between the cups. Then lastly, the cake was warm. A dark, rich chocolate was t

Except for the purple leaves (sorry don't know what it's called) which are really bitter and best eaten with the sauce. Wrap the sashimi in between the greens to have another taste of the salmon and salad together!

Kabe no Ana is one of the restaurant under Shokutsu 10. What makes this restaurant stands out from others, is it's actually serving Japanese style of Italian cuisine. I had the Chef recommendation, Salmon Horensou cream and mentai mayo baked rice ($12.90), which is the garlic rice with salmon and spinach baked in cream sauce, and then topped with spicy cod roe mayonnaise. It's sizzling hot, and with small amount of burned rice at the bottom. It's so fragrantly nice, and I love how salmon and spinach matches each other. Thumbs up.

Mentaiko carbonara ($13.90) is such a comfort food. The rich and creamy pasta cooked with spicy cod roe carbonara sauce, and is accompanied by bacon and a poached egg at the center. The runny egg yolk gives an extra flavour to the pasta, balance up the creamy taste.

The service was also very attentive as she offered plain water when she realized we had yet to be served with.

Overall, I was really glad that we had our lunch here and it definitely deserved a thumbs-up for its oishii set lunches~
