Menu mainly filled with localized korean delights ranging from spicy rice cake to bibimbab to kimchi soup to mandu soup and more all at affordable prices. Each main comes with a side dish of your choice.

Generous serving of Korean Rice Cake at only $5. Rice cake is a little chewy and best when eaten hot, otherwise it will turn a little hard. The sauce was pretty good, thick & gooey, sweet and spicy. & the sesame enhances the aroma of it.

We ordered both their Kimchi Soup ($7) and Seafood Soup ($7.50). I probably thought they might have used the same soup base for both the soup as that's what most places will do in order to save some cost. But i was wrong! Their soup base are totally different. The kimchi soup is thick and rich in kimchi flavor with hint of tingling sensation. While the seafood soup is much lighter and sweeter in flavor. Both soup are filled with abundance of fresh ingredients. For the kimchi soup, it's filled with pork and kimchi mainly, while for the seafood soup, it's filled with tofu, seafood and some leafy.

Overall, it has been quite a satisfying meal. The food and pricing has definitely make up for the not so appealing outlook.

1) hot plate beef sliced set $8The beef slices are surprisingly tender and well marinated. They go well with white rice. I love the kimchi side dish too!2) hot beancurd soup set $6This is one of my favourite dishes to order there! The beancurd soup is served piping hot and remained hot throughout the meal. Over the weekend, I had my dinner at Kim Dae Mun. Even though I was there early, at 6pm, surprisingly, there is quite a lot of people already in the eatery. Granted, bulk of the ingredients are kimchi, but still, it is a lot. The soup is also tasty and not too overly salty or spicy. Some kimchi soups that I had at food courts are more towards the salty side such that it makes drinking the soup difficult, but not the soup at Kim Dae Mun. Besides kimchi, there is also tau kwa, egg and some glass noodle in the soup. The pork is lesser though but as I mentioned, it is more than compensated by the large servings of kimchi in the soup. I will strongly recommend this place for authentic and affordable Korean food!

The korean food here is one of the best in food courts around Singapore. They are generous with their servings, and they give a huge portion of chicken with lots of onions, just for the price of $6.50, which comes with a side, miso soup and rice. They declared that their hotplate chicken is cooked with water, so it is very healthy! The taste is good too, not too salty nor spicy. As it's name suggest, Kim Dae Mun Korean Food specialises in serving Korean cuisine. It is probably the most famous stall in the food court. I have heard many people raving about their food. Hence, after a period of procrastination, I decided to visit this food court on a weekday evening for dinner.

It was easy to spot the stall with its distinct blue signboard. Moreover, with a queue of more than 10 persons, it would be hard to miss this stall. I was quite surprised to see the long queue considering that it was a weekday. I joined the queue and waited 20 minutes before I was able to order. After that it was another 5 minutes of wait for my food. To be fair, the staff were quite efficient considering the crowd.

I ordered the Spicy Chicken Soup Set $6.50 which was widely raved about online. The set consisted of a big bowl of Spicy Chicken Soup served with a bowl of rice and a side. For the sides, customers could choose between kimchi, anchovies or cucumbers. I chose anchovies.

The Spicy Chicken Soup Set was fill with generous amounts of ingredients such as chunks of chicken, beancurd, vegetable, korean (thick) vermicilli, spring onion, egg and onions. The soup was spicy and tasty - not salty (I doubt MSG was added). It was awesome combining the soup with the rice! In terms of the price, it was reasonable considering the quantity and taste of the food.

If I am ordering this the next time I would request for a less spicy version (overheard a customer requesting this).

Kim Dae Mun Korean Food is one of the few korean stalls in food courts worth a try. I will certainly be back. For the record, I seldom ordered Korean food in a food court. Besides the Spicy Chicken Soup, many others have raved about their potato pancake, tender beef sliced set and spicy shredded chicken.

Did you know that their hotplates items are cooked with water instead of oil? Yes, you heard me right! A healthier choice! What are you waiting for?

Tada! I chose the kimchi chigae (I always do haha) set, which came with a banchan (side dish) of either pickled cucumber, kimchi, or ikan bilis. Not a fan of ikan bilis and already having kimchi in my stew, I settled for the cucumber. After taking the requisite photos, we quickly tucked in. The broth was tangy and sour and spicy all at the same time, very yummy! I sampled a piece of kimchi, firm and crunchy, it wasn't as soft as I would have liked, and certain pieces (nearer to the heart of the cabbage) was a little too sour.

Close up shot of my stew ^^ My colleague commented that no matter what angle you take kimchi chigae from, it always turns out bad -.- Either way, it was not bad. Eaten with the rice, the broth, which was a little too salty on its own, was balanced out nicely. My only peeve is probably that there was REALLY little meat in the stew. But then again, the whole set was $5.50, so no complains I guess.

We also shared rice stew, dokbukki, between the two of us. I had high expectations of this, as it's one of my favourite things to order at dongdaemun. However, I felt that while the rice was sufficiently chewy, the sauce tasted like chee cheong fun sauce- thick sweet sauce. I really disliked it as I was expecting something more akin to my stew, tangy and spicy, with bits of kimchi in it. Oh well

Overall, the meal wasn't a bad one. Obviously it was not the best korean food I've had, but again, for the price, it was pretty not bad.

Instead of ordering my normal grill saba, I decided to go for something different. I ordered Steamed Saba Fish Set ($6.50). Knowing my dislike for kimchi, I did not realising that there will be some red bean paste in it. So when the food arrive, I have no choice but to eat it. The saba fish is very tender and juicy. No fishy smell and the gravy is quite subtle, a little sweet instead of spicy.

Since this is the first time we were here, we also ordered other dish such as Korean Glass Noodle ($5). The noodle here is very resilient and springy but not hard. It is very flavourful, but don't expect much prawn or seafood in it.

Potato Pancake ($4). This pancake is slightly different compare to the seafood pancake that we ever have in any Korean Restaurant. It is thin with crispy edges and tasted nice without any dipping sauce.

Overall, we find the food here is average. More towards a home-cooked Korean food. Price wise it is very reasonable. For return visit, we find that we won't purposely make a trip here to enjoy the food. If you are looking for a reasonable price Korean food and you are nearby, this might be a good place to try. Cheers!

This in my opinions, is the least delicious food, and also the most expensive.
It costs me $4 for just a thin oily slice.
Totally hated it and felt like asking for a refund

In the end, it made my stomach ache too :X, probably because it was too oily.

I've ate so much better tasting pancakes in Korea.
This was sooo disappointing!
Please, never ever buy this pancake or you'll regret like me!
I felt like I was eating biscuit instead of a fluffy potato pancake

This is where I go to whenever I have a craving for Korean food. Reasons: it's authentic, it's healthy, the food tastes marvellous, and it's really cheap! At S$6.50 - S$9.00 per meal (kimchi, soup, main dish with or rice), it's probably the best value for $$ Korean food in Singapore. For me, my favourite is always the Dolsot Bibimbap with beef($S6.50).

Bibimbap is Korean's version of 'mixed rice', usually with a variety of vegetables(namul), an egg, and the chili pepper paste (gochujang)...this is also something that you can find in many eateries all across Korea, usually served in a metal bowl. This is what we often see in Korean drama too, when the characters are under shock or suddenly feel hungry, then they throw their rice, the various namul from the fridge and the gochujang in a big bowl, mix it up, then eat none stop: yup, that is bibimbap. Now in Singapore we usually have the 'atas' version which include meat, and at Kim Dae Mun they have both the chicken and the beef. Well I have never eaten enough of my beef yet, so I haven't tried the chicken. Maybe it is as good or better
Anyway back to the Bibimbap. However nice bibimbaps are, I am only drawn to the Dolsot version: bibimbap in a stone pot. In this version, instead of the warm/lukewarm/cold rice and vege you get, it comes sizzling, with the rice and the namul making 'puza puza' sounds as you carry your tray to your seat, steam coming out of your bibimbap as you eat, and crusty, crispy rice bits that you can scrap off to eat after. Just thinking of it makes me salivate

Now if it's just a matter of the stone pot, rice, vege and sauce, it's really quite easy to make a good bibimbap, but I find Kim Dae Mun's Dolsot Bibimbap to have superior taste. Reason? Look at the ingredients!

While they have the usual carrots, bean sprouts, spinach, they also added in some kind of gourd, mushroom (?), some vege (that looks like cabbage but I cannot identify at the moment), and bean curd (hiding under the egg). Even though all these namul is to be mixed and eaten, each of them actually taste good on their own. This combined with their beef bulgolgi and a watery sunny-side up egg, then vigorous mixing with the gochujang using your spoon...ahh heaven!
(plus puza puza and steam coming out from the bowl).

The Dolsot Bibimbap is the reason I specially travel to Concorde hotel to eat, but it is not the only good stuff in the meal. The kimchi, while not the best I've eaten in Singapore, tasted very good without being too salty nor spicy, with just a right amount of crunch.

The soup...oh my god, it's VERY nice! It's eggy, sweet, light and quite delicate. I thought to look it up, and perhaps it is the Gyeran Tang? (clam and egg) Definitely a sweet taste of clams there

So as I finish my very satisfying meal, I think, hmm when should I come down again to eat...

Note: Not on a 1st or 3rd Monday of the month. I came down once on a Monday envisioning my delicious Bibimbap to find that it is closed!

Kimchi Fried Rice - $5: Quite spicy so I don't think those who can't tolerate spicy food can tolerate this. The kimchi taste was very strong and I felt that it was too overwhelming for me to finish one whole plate by myself. The grains of rice were very moist so I don't have to drink water to tackle the "dryness" of the typical bowl of fried rice. The soup provided was rather salty as compared to the last time I had it. It is still worth a try if you love kimchi especially.

Its fiery red colour belies the true spiciness level of the soup because it actually isn't as spicy as it looks. It does have the sour taste of kimchi though so if you're not a fan, then best to try other soup dishes instead. Generous portions of kimchi, sliced pork, egg, tofu and vermicelli noodles can be found in the soup, which went really well with the rice. One of the better kimchi jiggaes in Singapore I have to admit. The potato pancake was also crispy and tasty and best eaten when hot! It came with a dipping sauce that made it extra yummier.

If you're looking for a cheap and good meal while in Town, do try out this humble little shop in Juz Foodcourt!

The side dish (choose 1) that I chose was kimchi. The pieces were too big and I had to eat it whole which I did not like. However, I really love the spicy chicken set that I had ordered. It was not spicy for me, perhaps mildly spicy for people who can't take spiciness. Portion looked huge but I managed to finish it all. Soup was okay. I have tried my friends' dishes and I find them alright. I still prefer the spicy chicken set best.

I came back this time to eat their spicy chicken soup which is equally tasty as well. $6 per bowl, in located in Orchard is reasonable price for that.
For the set they will give you one bowl of rice and a choice of set dishes Quite a lot of veg given(leek Xiaobaicai), glass noodles, chicken, tofu and sesame seeds.
service is good and fast. first queue for ordering and right queue for receiving the order. But give the staff your receipt first so that they know what you order.
