KKI cake shop has been having lots of positive reviews and i don't see why. from their appearance to their taste, you can really feel how much pride and love the chef has put in his cakes. Recently, i had an Emily (Champagne mousse with Wild Strawberry centre, contains alcohol) and a Pink Peach Souffle. The Emily is so dainty-like and pretty, with its outer layer covered in a very thin coating of melty red-coloured chocolate (at least that is how it taste to me). Together with the champagne mousse and strawberry jelly-like centre, it is really refreshing and great for a light after-meal dessert. Initially, i assumed the cake layer at the bottom of the cake was just ordinary sponge cake just like any other japanese dessert. However, i was pleasantly surprises that it was actually an almond sponge layer, and i can really taste and bit into some almond meals in it. This really adds to how much the chef care about every detail of his cakes. Another very popular cake at KKI is their souffle cheesecake, which is very light and good for people who doesn't like rich dense new york style cheesecake. I was lucky to get their Pink Peach souffle cheesecake that day. Thier cakes has a hint of peach fragrance and taste, though i would prefer a stronger peach taste. However, it is still very tasty! The coating of icing sugar on top adds to its melt-in-your-mouth texture!
