Introduction
KOI Cafe was established in 2006 and came to Singapore in 2007. The first outlet in Singapore was in Toa Payoh. Most of the ingredients used in the making of the drinks are imported from Taiwan, in a bid to bring the authentic taste of Taiwanese milk tea to locals.

Was walking past KOI today after lunch when I noticed their promotional board, advertising their mini yam topping! I'm not sure if mini yam topping has always been available or it's new, but anyhow, I was attracted to the board because I like yam!I got the normal milk tea but instead of pearl, it was the mini yam instead. I find that sometimes the sweetness of the milk tea varies even though I always order 50%. This time, the sweetness was just right for me . The size of the mini yam is about one third size of the normal pearl. It was chewy with a nice subtle yam flavour. Will probably order this instead of pearl next time Read More

I am an avid bubble tea fan. I practically drink bubble tea almost everyday. so when i headed to Koi to satisfy my daily dose of bubble tea, i was quite shocked to find that my favourite green milk tea has increased in price to $2.80. i remember it used to be only $2.40. Nevertheless, the temptation of the bubble tea sort of overweight the price hike so i got myself a cup. i ordered 50% sweetness and it was just right for me. I found their 25% a little bland so for Koi i will order my drinks in 50%. i guess you pay more for really premium tea leaves and delicious drinks.Read More

It was the third round of free drink tasting at koi ! ;D And this is the first time I’m participating in this free drink tasting so I’m pretty excited to try the drink.I think they are contemplating to launch new drinks and they are giving away free drinks to garner feedbacks from consumers. They do have time limit each day though, and this day was 12-2pm.We simply have to like and share their facebook post about the third round of free drinks promotion to be eligible for the redemption of free drink. The cup is smaller than the regular size though, but the size is pretty reasonable. We are also not allowed to choose the sugar level of the drink and we are not aware of the flavor too.I waited around 8-10 minutes for it.The drink has a layer of milk foam at the top, which makes it similar to the macchiato drinks they have there, just that the layer is thicker. After tasting it, it tastes like peach/apricot with black tea and the macchiato milk.Even though I’m not sure of the flavor, the drink tastes quite refreshing and nice. After shaking the layers together, it does not tastes as milky and the taste is quite balanced.Would probably buy it when it’s launched since its quite a nice combination ;DRead More
