Introduction
KOI Cafe was established in 2006 and came to Singapore in 2007. The first outlet in Singapore was in Toa Payoh. Most of the ingredients used in the making of the drinks are imported from Taiwan, in a bid to bring the authentic taste of Taiwanese milk tea to locals. continue reading

Really disappointing experience here as always hear from my friend that the milk tea here is very nice, but it really failed to impress me. Service was not really that friendly and also very impatient to wait for me to place my order. Shop was clean and neat. Milk tea with pearls cost $2.80, which is reasonable. The texture was quite blend and not flavourful. Sago pearls are also quite tough and difficult to chew. disappointing! continue reading

Have bought a cup of this famous and popular bubble tea from tgis IKO outlet. The service was alright but not super friendly nor fast. The shop is clean and simple. I have bought their red milk tea with pearls (the regular size) at $2.80 per cup. It took less than five minutes for me to pick up my drink. However was really disappointed by its awful taste. The tea was quite blend in taste and the milk inside the tea was quite powder and not mix well. The pearls are chewy but also with not much taste in it. Worst part it it is not cold enough which really make the drink taste really bad. Service was alright only. continue reading

I am normally not a fan of bubble teas but my children introduced me to this drink to try and once I tried it, I was hooked. The drink that they got me to try was the Black Tea Macchiato. I ordered the $2.40 portion and the tea is unlike the normal teas. You will need to sip off the layer of milk at the top and then drink the tea. It is quite special as other teas will normally require that you shake the cup but not this. I find that the milk at the top is pleasantly sweet and smooth and it is very tasty. The tea at the end was quite refreshing and not too sweet. I had mine at 50% sugar level which I find it just right for me. continue reading

In my humble opinion, KOI seems to be very much still the market leader for bubble tea! There are several bubble tea shops around in Toa Payoh, but it's not difficult to observe which one has the longest queue.Hazelnut Milk Tea with PearlFrankly, I find their menu similar to lots of other bubble tea shops, and while they offer very decent drinks, I feel many other bubble tea shops have also since caught up with their standards.I do enjoy their drinks but I don't think I'd be willing to queue 30 minutes out of my 1 hour lunch duration for a cup of bubble tea again, which I can purchase cheaper and faster at other shops for the same standards. continue reading

My dad was feeling thirsty so he went over to Koi to grab a drink. At first, I told him to get Milk Tea, but he went to order Passion Fruit Ai-Yu instead. I was glad he did, because it was really nice. The Ai-Yu, which was something like jelly, was soft but tasteless. It was so soft it felt like a liquid, but it was clearly jelly. The passion fruit drink was sweet and tasty. It was a good choice to order that. It costs around $3 or more, which was a little expensive. But it was quite worth as it tasted really good. continue reading
