Had yong tau foo (with minced meat noodles for around $4. The noodles' sauce tasted sweet and slightly spicy. There was very little minced meat but I reckoned it was more of a "complement". The noodles had a strong floury taste that wasn't to my liking. There were 5 pieces of yong tau foo (cannot be chosen) and all of them tasted more to the salty side. Overall, it was an average meal.  continue reading

I came to buy dinner. I ordered the yong tau foo soup from this stall. I did not want the noodle as i am not too hungry. I ordered the large soup for $4.50. It got tau pok and tau kwa with fish paste. It also got ngor hiang with only 1 fishball. The soup did not have much taste and only the sweet sauce is given. It was a okay dinner. I think it is quite expensive as the yong tau foo are pieces are not a lot. continue reading

FoodHad old usual 5 pieces of Koo Kee Yong Tow foo Mee upsized till $8.00. The portion were 2 times bigger its original size. It's yong tow foo has been around for quite sometime and you can see outlets located in Koufu food court. I came to know about them during my visits to Tiong Bahru Plaza. The Yong Tow Foo are freshness is there, the fish cake fillings are light and of the appropriate portion. What I like most is the soup. It looks plain but soup is filled with the essence of all yong tow foo and tastes sweet and refreshing. This Hakka Style Yong Tow Foo is accompanied by some minced meat over the round thin yellow egg noodle. Served with dark red sweet sauce, it just added the right tinge of flavours to all the lovely Yong Tow Foo. Chilli are also available. However, the noodles clustered and lump together even though soup has been added to this bowl of noodles and doesnt fit my liking.ServiceSince it is a food court, self service practice is seen. AmbienceAlmost dinner hour, I nearly couldnt got hold of any seats. Luckily one kind lady offered her seats and shared one table. I was lucky. As it was a Sunday evening, there were lots of families dinning there. Ventilation is not really good, your clothes are smell of smoke after walking out of the food court.PricePricing is pretty alright due to the upsize (two sets of it). Recommendation / TipsSince there are many Koo Kee Yong Tow Foo outlets, do remember to them when you see one. continue reading

Even though the kang kong here are just boiled in the hot water and mix with some sauce before served to you, you will be surprise on how tasty the sauce which used in this vegetable dish. The kang kong is also crunchy and fresh and that little bit of sliced red chilli topped on it also added that slight spicyness to to it too. This vegetable goes well not only the yong tau foo, but also with plain rice as well. continue reading

Decided to try a different kind of yong tau foo, the hakka version. The set came with noodles- the thin yellow one, kang kong and a bowl of soup with some pieces of yong tau foo. I really enjoyed the kang kong which was blanched and there was the beancurd sauce over it however, the sauce was a little too diluted. The pieces of yong tau foo were fresh but normal and the soup was tasty! Yummy! continue reading
