Decided to get some sushi for supper. As it was after 9pm, they have a special offer where you get a 30% discount if you purchase above $5 worth of sushi. I had the lobster salad sushi ($1.20) and Salmon Sushi ($0.90). There was no wasabi or soy sauce provided though. The sushi tasted fresh. The lobster salad tasted like it had lesser wasabi mixed in it than other sushi joints that I had tried.Read More

Decided to have sashimi before a proper dinner meal and ended up in Kuriya Japanese Fish Market. Slabs of Raw fish are packaged and placed in the refridgator, each with different weight and costs. We asked if we could dine in as it seems that not many were seen dining in and the answer was yes. Salmon sashimi was my friend's favourite while the same old me still prefer swordfish sashimi to any other sashimi. Altogether it sums up to about S$24 for 2 kinds of sashimi. Payment for these 2 packets of sashimi was paid over the counter and take a seat while waiting for the chef to cut them into smaller pieces. Raw fishes can be seen freshly prepared and cut by the chef in the kitchen. For our portion, they had actually merged them into a plate with packets of shoyu sauce and a lump of horse raddish (Wasabi) by the side. The meat are very fresh and tender with every piece cut into even proportion. As a sashimi lover, I would patronize this place again!Read More
