It used to be located in the food court in the second floor. Recently it has moved to its current location and expanded its menu. Only cash and NETS payment is accepted here. The place is decorated in a industrial look, with a play area for kids.Cordon Bleu Chicken ($10.90++)Served With any 2 side dishes from selected choices of mash potato, potato salad, olive rice, fries, garden salad, coleslaw, ratatouille, and plain rice.I was surprised when the dish was served. It was not the cordon bleu or schnitzel cordon bleu, which is a dish of meat wrapped around cheese (or with cheese filling), then breaded and pan-fried or deep-fried. Instead it was served as deep fried chicken cutlet, topped with ham and melted cheese. It was also served with a garlic aioli sauce. The chicken cutlet was crispy except that it was a tab too dry. The garlic aioli sauce helped to moist it a bit. I like the stretch of the melted cheese. I had the dish served with mash potato and coleslaw.Overall the food was not bad. The place was relatively quiet on a weekday night, with most customers having takeaway. Remember to help yourself to the iced water and condiments at the counter. continue reading

“Cook it. Twist it. Eat it. Love it. Good food for Good people.” It was La Pastificio meaningful slogan. The impressive black and white checked cover of dining table, it made overall looked neat. Foodcourt concept, counter and kitchen were side by side in clearly hygiene manner. Browsing their Menu, reasonable price whereby most of them was under $10.00. I just simply order the rice with dory fish, plus a sunny side up on top. Silky smooth of flesh and refreshing coleslaw, overall was a generous portion. Only sold at $8.50, my lunch was worth the value. I heard from the staff, this end of the month they were having Chinese New Year 2014 game. For every $25 per receipt spent, customer will entitle a chance of Wheel of Fortune. Grab a free item or 10% discount from them, it sounded interesting. Affordable but finest quality food, I will definitely revisit again. continue reading

My mum is a fan of fish and chips, so while we were at Sembawang Shopping Centre, she suggested going to the Food Junction Kitchen to check out the western fare there. The stalls in Food Junction Kitchen are designed to operate like mini-restaurants, which explains why each stall has their own decor and different ambience to go with it. Over at La Pastificio, the ambience felt very homely and cozy and was just perfect for our mother-daughter lunch. They have a wide range of western grub from pasta to entrees and even burgers. For the budget conscious, there are also different kind of combo sets available to choose from. My mum opted for their Set B meal ($9.50) which has Fish and Chips, along with a side of canned drink and a scoop of ice cream. As for me, I had a hard time choosing from the wide variety of dishes available but I eventually went with the Ham & Mixed Vegetable Aglio Olio ($7.20).The food were served within a reasonable amount of time and I thought it was cute that the fish and chips were served in a ship-like plate. The Aglio Olio looked simple and tame, but it actually packed quite a punch. The flavour was quite strong and it was pretty spicy for me. But I liked the ham and wished that there were more of it in the dish. As for the fish and chips, I didn't try it but my mum thought it was quite good (and coming from someone who is a fussy fish eater like her, I think it is considered a compliment!). Unfortunately, for the ice cream, they only had mango ice cream when we were there, which neither my mum or I were fond of. I also thought that it would be nice if they have more selection of desserts available. Otherwise, it was a nice, filling dining experience for us at La Pastificio. If I have the chance to visit La Pastificio again, I'd love to try their Cordon Bleu Chicken and Honey Grilled Chicken! continue reading
