I have been a patron for Lai Lai Beef Noodles for a few years and I always left the place with a full stomach. The set meal consists of the beef noodles, bubble milk tea with pearls and a taiwan side dish. Some of the side dishes are, cold tofu with century egg, fried brinjal with pork floss, salted crispy chicken etc. The salted crispy chicken is one of my favorite as the taste is just right. It is totally worth the money, do visit Lai Lai if you have cravings for Taiwan snacks and beef noodles. Read More

If you are a fan of Taiwanese beef noodles, then you must visit Lai Lai Casual Dining. The beef noodles here are excellent. The beef is stewed and in big chunks instead of miserly slices. If you like beef tendons, then you can choose them here. These tendons are generously given with big chunks. The sides like salt and pepper chicken is also good. The chilli sauce with fried shallots complements the fried chicken really well. Read More

Went Lai Lai for lunch before heading to Bugis to shop. I had one of their sides. It's under the appetizers category but i find this pretty filling. It is actually roti prata wrapped with cheese and egg. It is really tasty! I savour the entire dish on my own! The salad at the side was pretty common. As for the rolls, the prata on the outside is crispy and tasty and the cheese and eggs are soft and fragrant. Will order this again on my next visit!Read More

My friend and I were waiting for our friends to come before we can head for our steamboat dinner. As we were early and felt hungry, we headed to the liang seah lai lai to sit and chill. The liang seah branch is pretty quiet on weekdays, it was a great place to sit and chill. We ordered a plate of braised pig intestine. Did not order too much food as we were going for steamboat buffet later. The pig intestine was braised perfectly, it was very tender. a little oily but it was very tasty. not too filling but just enough to keep us full till our friends came.Read More

Lai lai is more commonly known for its excellent beef noodles, however i had an opportunity to try their mee sua and found it a let down. Compared to the beef noodles, the mee sua is a 4/10 in terms of taste. Or perhaps its an acquired taste? Its supposedly taiwan mee sua with a choice of topping (mine was shredded chicken, the other choices were pork if im not wrong). The size of the bowl gave me a shock when it arrived - it was minuscule. And the starchy soup had a weird taste to it, even after adding alot of vinegar and pepper. Read More

My girlfriend wanted to shop at bugis street so we headed to bugis to walk walk. After hours of shopping, we both got famished and we headed to lai lai casual dining for a meal. I ordered their minced meat rice. It was really good, though the portion was a little small for me. The meat was minced very finely and it was braised for some time. They also added braised peanuts, the braised peanuts were very soft and juicy. It went really well with the rice. I like the gravy of the minced meat and braised peanut, it was very tasty. There were some pickled vegetable at the side too but I was not really a pickled person so I gave it to my girlfriend, she enjoyed it and found it very crunchy. Read More

I accompanied my daughter to lai lai for her late lunch before heading to bugis street for shopping. She was mostly thirsty as compared to hungry so I told her to take the set meal with includes a drink. She ordered the beef noodle set with a side dish and a bubble milk tea. I finished up the side dish for her, I opted for the pepper crispy chicken, Yan shu ji. It was really good, deep fried till very crispy. The meat inside was tender and juicy. I love the way they seasoned the chicken, it is peppery and salty at the same time. I tried my daughter’s soup, it tasted really good, very tasty. Read More

i was walking around bugis shopping for some new year clothes. Even though I had a hearty lunch, I still felt a little hungry after 2 hours of shopping so my mum and I headed to lai lai to order some side dishes to fill our stomach. we ordered the pig intestine and Fried Brinjal with Pork Floss to share. the pig intestines was really good, it was braised really well. The pig intestine was very tender, not too oily. They served it was ginger slices. I like the way they seasoned it, it taste quite salty but just right to eat it alone. The fried brinjal with pork floss was really good too. it was fried till golden brown. The pork floss added a sweetish flavour to the brinjal. Despite being deep fried, it was not too oily as well. Really juicy and delicious brinjal. Read More

Im not a huge fan of beef noodles, but I thought the beef noodles served at Lai Lai Casual Dining is awesome. The beef is very nicely marinated and is very chewy. The soup is very flavourful and you can even taste abit of the herbs taste. Very fresh ingredients. Great lunch at Lai Lai Casual Dining!Read More

I have been having a lot of girlfriends outing. First it was swensens, now it is at lai lai. I know this bunch of girlfriends in secondary school and the four of us always hang out today, lately everyone have been busy with our lives but we still try to find time to catch up. We decided to meet at lai lai as we were craving for nice chinese food. I ordered the signature noodle soup. I had a choice of udon or thin noodle. And I chose fried fish slices to go with my noodle soup. The soup taste really nice, not too salty, absolutely delicious!Read More

This branch of lai lai was kind of quiet. I did not notice it was there until we walked passed it while looking for food to eat for dinner. So we decided to give it a try. This branch is very cosy, there were very little people there as well. I ordered the herbal pork rib udon, it came very fast. Barely needed to wait… The pork rib portion was kind of miserable but they gravy was so nice, it outweighs everything. Glad I found this hidden little outlet!Read More

Casual Dining for Beef Lovers!

As the shop name says it all, Lai Lai is a place for casual dining in the Taiwanese style. Whenever I visit there, I will definitely order the set meals which consists of the main dish, a side dish and a choice of drink at very reasonable prices. This restaurant is often popular for their beef-related dishes such as noodles or vermicelli, whether in soup based or dry, it just seem like a main dish every beef lover would love to try! The Jasmine Green Tea with Pearls is my favourite drink, as I prefer not to have a milky drink as it might be quite filling to finish to the both the drink as well as the dishes. So, for me, this drink tastes refreshing and the pearls are soft and chewy. A good drink to keep me happy before the rest of the dishes were served. These two side dishes are totally worth trying. Firstly, the Fried Brinjal with Pork Floss tastes so good when topped with the fluffy floss. I never had a liking for brinjal, however, this dish made me satisfied as the brinjal was fried nicely with my favourite floss.Another great side dish is the Pepper Salt Chicken, it tastes similar to fried chicken cutlets from those Taiwanese snack stalls. However, this is even better as it is served into small bite sizes for easy consumption. The pepper added is not too spicy for people who do not take chilli and children may like this dish too. Finally, the main dish is Stewed Beef Noodle in soup based. The cubes of beef are really soft and tender. For the soup wise, it has a little herbal taste, so it might not be an ideal choice for those who do not enjoy such strong taste. My friend ordered the dry version of Stewed Beef Noodle and commented that the herbal taste was even stronger than mine.Overall, I still enjoyed my main dish very much, of course I mean the whole set!
