I have been working late and decide to get some food from the S11 coffeeshop. Facing the coffeeshop, I notice the small outlet selling soya bean milk and bean curd. There are different flavours available too, but I decide to get a soya bean milk ($1.50) and a bean curd ($1.50) for takeaway. There is also a small dine-in area with a couple of tables and stools behind the counter, which one enters through the side door. Although only one aunty serving the counter, she is quite fast in packing the items, while promoting the stall to the other people. The soya bean milk is not too sweet but I feel a bit water-down.The bean curd tastes smooth down the throat. Very nice.Overall not bad. Like the fact that there is now quite a number of outlets available. One do not have make way to the original outlet at Old Airport Road. continue reading

Lao Ban Soya Beancurd has saved my life while I was on a soft diet after my wisdom teeth surgery. So I've gotten 5 days worth of supplies which I had for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was so easy to swallow for me who wasn't able to fully open my mouth. I switched between the Almond ($2) and Original ($1.50) from time to time and having it for 5 days straight didn't even make me sick of it! It also helps to open up my appetite along the way. Hard to believe but the taste was really exceptional thus it's true. I'm glad the outlet locations now are so convenient now because it has already became an addiction. continue reading

Lao ban dou hua is one of the famous dou hua brand in Singapore, and there will always be a queue whenever I past by this store. There are two flavours available, original and almond, and I bought the original flavor as I think original are always the best. This dou hua is really soft, smooth and springy and will bounce when pressed and let go, this is what a good dou hua should be. The sweetness is just right. When eaten cold, this is really a good dessert for a hot day. continue reading

Lao Ban finally opened a new branch at Ang Mo Kio. However, it is located at Jubilee Square and would have to walk around 5 to 10 minutes from the Ang Mo Kio MRT Station/ bus interchange. There are a lot of bean curd flavours being sold here, but I still prefer the original which cost $1.50. The shop is quite big and there are even standing table beside the shop for people to dine in there (with aircon). If you have never try lao ban before, you all should give it a try. It is not like the traditional bean curd. It has the pudding texture and is soft and silky! continue reading

Finally there's lao ban outlet at ang mo kio, don't have to go till so far till the old airport road. this outlet is big and there's still a corner to able to dine there and also there's television available to watch. i like their beancurd it is very jelly like and it also very smooth. tried their almond one ($2 buck) also very nice with heavy and thick almond taste. they only sell cold beancurd and soya milk that makes them the difference comparing with others continue reading
