Their faithful diehards were all preparing to wait for the delivery man to replenish the stock even though it was sold out at the point of queueing. Business were real good during then.

Novelty soon wore off, perhaps due to their rapid expansion, these "Soya Puddings" are easily obtained in the west, thus the queues were simple and short nowadays.

I went into the queue ith 2 to 3 pax ahead of me and soon I got 4 original bowls of Soya Beancurd and 1 cup of soya milk. I was rather surprised that they have soya milk drink and I immediately asked for it.

4 Bowls of Original Soya Beancurd was then placed in their plastic bags. The auntie is extremely friendly and keep chatting to me throughout the transaction.

The little mascots of Lao Ban featuring an old couple "Ah Ma & Ah Gong" is rather cute and makes me quite happy to see them while enjoying my bowl of Beancurd.

Famous for their seamless looking beancurd, this chilled bowl of dessert is smooth and silky, well filtered without any air bubbles lying afloat. Precise portion of gelatine powder were used to give the pudding a sturdy yet jelly soft taste that melts down your throat. A good balance of sugar and coffee mix powder were used too, sweetness is moderate and perfect for taste! Lao Ban is still my favourite Soya Pudding!

Bought 6 boxes of Lao Ban from the Clementi outlet. It tastes just the same as the one from Old Airport Road. Personally, I am not a huge fan of this new tau huay that has gotten popular over the recent years. In my opinion, Lao Ban adds too much coffeemate and I can't finish a whole box on my own and if I finish the whole box, it leaves a sick taste in mouth. I am still a fan of the whole school Tau Huay, with its tofu texture in the syrup!

What's a good meal without desserts? More often than not, when I am around Clementi central for a dinner, Lao Ban is always the "after meal place" that I head to for desserts. You see, the only place months ago to have Lao Ban is Old Changi Road, but after new outlets emerged all over the city, Lao Ban Soya Beancurd is much easier to get.

Different from the traditional soya beancurd (where they serve with sugar syrup), newer renditions like Lao Ban's served it pre-mixed, and using a special recipe to ensure that their soya beancurd is smooth and silky, so much you probably just put it in your mouth and swallow.

All in all, Lao Ban proves to be a more favourable choice for the younger crowds in Singapore.

I suspect Lao Ban Soya Beancurd standards are dropping from its heydays. Back when it first started, the amount given was always nearly to the brim and that each bowl was smooth and almost creme brulee like. This bowl that I bought from Clementi was much too hard and felt too much like normal beancurd. It was also overly sweet and the bowl was just three quarters full. A pity.

$1.50 for ten minutes of happiness, Lao Ban still has that magic going in it. While there are many of similar Lao Ban standard bean curd going around, I think that there's still an extra oomph in Lao Ban. The solid to liquid melting in my mouth and the soy taste is just a perfect combination. This time it is less "sandy" then the last time I ate, an improvement. I used to choke a little on the "sandiness" but no more of that. I really like Lao Ban and it is a good after-meal dessert.

The proportional of sweetness level is uneven as it varies different in each layer. At the top layer/part, it is plain whereas the bottom layer is too sweet. Only the middle part has the perfect sweetness level and it taste best. Even though I mixed the Soya beancurd, it is still tastes average.
